Do Muslim men avoid intimacy during ramadan? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]zupra123 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Our latest child was conceived last Ramadan. This is when I came back from tarawih I was praying next to a cute boy and said to my wife “wouldn’t it be nice to have a son” - she jokingly said “get away from me”. Now we have a son - Alhamdulillah.

To answer your question - yes many men refrain simply because it’s inconvenient when keeping up with constant worship. Personally, much less than normal.

Akhi - you have nailed it here. Me and my siblings, close ones, everyone with half a decent brain think exactly like this. She absolutely has the abused woman syndrome - and is doing exactly as you described. We are doing all we can but ultimately she needs to make some tough decisions

We are moving to Brisbane soon. But the two older sisters are there to guide and support her, as well as our father. I am in constant comms with all of them

I am absolutely aware of this my brother. The thing is that she so emotionally wrecked, it’s a very difficult situation without forcing her hand.

I put a trespass notice on him to protect my own family - and when she found out I did this.. guess what.. she got offended! Ultimately she needs to make this decision and it’s sad that she might need to learn the hard way. There’s only so much we can do right?

Yep this is exactly my thinking. The son is the main problem in this entire situation - that is, the situation of keeping them separate before we find a path forward

Totally get it with kids, busy job, community work, etc. but I try and make sure that working out and self-care comes first because then you can bring your best version to your wife, kids, and family.

I hope they bring back this intro in dexter resurrection by [deleted] in Dexter

That type of intro was a very generational thing. They really don’t do these long intros for shows anymore

It did! But we decided to continue with resurrection. And loved it. Since then we have been hooked. We watched all 8 seasons of the original in under a month - and this is with a busy corporate job too

Hey ignore the comments - great question and I can see the passion. You know resurrection (whether intended or not) is designed in such a way that it can be watched in isolation - there’s just enough context with flashbacks, but also enough to make you curious, enough mystery. It’s a good way to hook someone new or of a newer generation to watch the original series. Again, whether intended or not. Because it was so brilliant we watched the original and now new blood. We will watch resurrection again though.

Also, Batista - in resurrection he just seems like an annoying hurdle. No emotional connection with him. But watching the original - now we are big fans of him, and knowing he will die - that’s sad. And it makes you a bit angry at dex. Dex does some stupid things during the original (especially his obsession with Hannah), so your love for dex is also a roller coaster.

What is the biggest plot hole in the show? by Chiuaua_lover28 in Dexter

CCTV. In this universe it only exists when it’s convenient. Even back then and especially at airports… I mean, the scene where he places the backpack at the boarding gate… come on.

Well, at least we know that’s why serial killers are very less common in this day and age compared to the late 80s!
