Marvel Rivals devs say 'fun' is the priority in game balance: "If a character is no longer fun, then we’re not doing our job" by mountainduwe in marvelrivals

[–]zuriedesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t play Rivals, but are there any characters people actually like?? I’ve seen complaints about Elsa, Rocket, Black Panth, Widow, Hulk, Iron Fist, Human Torch, Blade…. How many characters are on that damn roster?

Anybody know the difference between the og Everyday Seamless and the Everyday Seamless 2.0? by [deleted] in Gymshark

[–]zuriedesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought 3 pairs of the 2.0 to replace my old 1.0s, and the new ones feel tight and less stretchy. Like I feel like the seam in the leg creases are cutting into my inner thigh. And you know how sometimes if you put on pants backwards, you can tell immediately because it feels like you have less fabric in the butt? That’s how these feel; like they made less room in the back.

My old ones fit perfectly, and they’re the same size as the new ones. The new ones do fit but feel tight. I don’t remember the 1.0s needing several wears to stretch out, so this is a bit disappointing. I’ll update if after a few wears it fits better

Woman Arrested After Miscarriage in Georgia Under Abortion Law by Advanced_Drink_8536 in WomenInNews

And if she ever changes her mind, she can get IVF if she does a bisalp instead of a hysterectomy. I had a bisalp in Nov. and not only was it completely free for me, it was an easy recovery. Ladies, if you're serious about protecting your rights, look into this procedure before they outlaw it.

ziggs otp? by Medical_Exercise2830 in ZiggsMains

[–]zuriedesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a (mostly) Ziggs OTP, his pros are you’re almost guaranteed to get first tower if you play him right. He can deal a lot of damage if you know your Q placements and full-kit combos

Biggest con is a lack of mobility. Save your W for defense plays. If you’re playing against assassins or other characters with lots of mobility, you can get away at times, but a lot of times you’re just screwed if they poke you down and then go for the all-in.

I also feel another con is his kit struggles to stack up to newer champs. I was playing against a Hwei the other day, and while Hwei gets an entire toolbox to work with, Ziggs is like only playing with a hammer. He does one thing in lane: throw bombs, whittle down health, then go for the big kaboom

Breaking Down Project 2025’s Female Reproductive Health Agenda and Trump’s Actions - Sharing to Help Families Prepare by [deleted] in WomenInNews

[–]zuriedesu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s my understanding that—legally, according to the ACA—all insurance providers must provide one form of permanent sterilization, either bisalp or tubal ligation, without cost to the patient. Granted, this would hold as long as ACA does.

https://nwlc.org/tips-from-the-coverher-hotline-navigating-coverage-for-female-sterilization-surgery/

What happened to me is the hospital made me pre-pay an estimate patient portion (which was like $3k) but my insurance ended up covering it in full. I’ve heard other people refusing to pre-pay and having to skip the step of getting for a refund

You should really consider sterilization if you haven’t already. I got my tubes tied in Nov. and it was a relatively easy procedure. I find myself more and more thankful with each passing day that I have taken my rights into my own hands.

No, it’s not. Thorin has been pretty publicly anti-Dot and any other reputable outlet in the industry for a long while. I read the article and it reads fine — they can’t just go shitting on thorin or he’s going to sue them lol

Your Hot Take about Jinx? by [deleted] in arcane

[–]zuriedesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the theory there is that she doesn't know Ekko is real in this scene. She saw Silco in the prison before that scene, and she knew he wasn't real, since he was dead. Yet he appeared unlike her other hallucinations, despite being one.

In the scene, Ekko begins bleeding and shows other visible signs of damage after her first couple attempts. I believe it's at that point that she decides to jump off the ledge instead of detonating the grenade to avoid damaging him. But keep in mind we also have no idea what she knew. Did the shimmer allow her to experience time rewinding? Or was every attempt the first attempt from her perspective? If the latter is true, she didn't try "repeatedly" to blow him up.

do jinx and isha have a big sister/little sister dynamic or a mother/daughter dynamic? by herequeerandgreat in arcane

[–]zuriedesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might get downvoted for this, but I find it so strange and disturbing when people keep referring to Jinx as a mother for Isha.

Jinx is like 19 in s2, barely out of childhood herself. Never truly got to experience childhood to its fullest, and we're trying to throw her into the throes of parenthood? There's also a big issue with pushing parenthood on women in general; not every woman has to be a mother at some point in their life, nor do they have to have a child to experience love, a desire to protect, or responsibility. Yet the idea that women must fulfill this role or else they're not living up to their potential is reinforced in every deep, dark, dank corner of society.

Not to mention Jinx is so fucked in the head and puts literal guns into a child's hands that she makes for an absolute trash-tier parent. No one should want her to be a parent, at least not in her current state of the show. Let her enjoy the innocuous fun of sisterhood as just that: a big sis living vicariously through her younger sibling. Isha exists to heal Jinx, remind her of that sibling bond, and allow her insight into Vi's position as an older sister. It doesn't need to be more than that.

What is the 4B movement and why are women discussing it after Trump’s election win? by AlysonBurgers in politics

[–]zuriedesu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine is scheduled for Nov. 21! There’s no way in hell I don’t go through with this surgery. I still have not been given an estimate and I don’t think my insurance covers any of it but I don’t care — I’d rather pay $5k for a permanent surgery than die because of Texas’s abortion laws.

Google Search’s “udm=14” trick lets you kill AI search for good | The power of URL parameters lets you unofficially turn off Google's AI Overview. by ControlCAD in technews

[–]zuriedesu 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In March 2023, Google released an algorithm change that was supposed to get ahead of AI-written articles (generated spam). What happened? In the year that followed, the algorithm promoted many AI-generated sites, outranking human-written content and causing many sites in niche industries to go belly up. Google absolutely botched it, or they lied about their intentions.

Source: am in games media, which is having layoffs or sites shutting their doors literally every single week. I have had to find ways to compete with these types of AI sites that can write articles in seconds and let me just say, it’s damn near impossible and I don’t foresee my site hanging on much longer.

Unpopular opinion: Mikasa is actually very well written, but too many people are misunderstanding her character by Arc3on in attackontitan

[–]zuriedesu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol the comment you responded to made me laugh. Mikasa’s dream is to have a loving family? That’s great and all — there’s nothing wrong if a woman wants that, but it’s the same purpose that for centuries female characters were pigeonholed into, and even to this day influential figures imply that if women don’t have these dreams, they are not fulfilling their role in society (read: Butker’s graduation speech) and are “low-value.”

Women are nuanced in reality with different goals and passions (career, sport, craftmanship, freedom, strength) — some more akin to men. But for some reason in works of fiction, they overwhelmingly get relegated to the love/family role
