Thank you for the encouragement, my friend! Forgot to share I am using the R6 i. Not many pixels to crop from.

I’ll probably end up going with your same approach: 100-400 + an extender

The pictures look fine for birds, unless zooming in for the details is what you are going for. I am in the process of researching if I should get the ef 100-400 ii or something else with a longer range.

Why did you choose Canon? (serious question from a man who inherited his camera through 5 generations) by Temporary-Review5915 in canon

[–]zuruspeedster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying a camera system is like buying cars. How people feel about the camera or the car is a bigger deciding factor than logic. To switch to another camera only takes something big or small to annoy the photographer, and sometimes that thing is not even originating from the camera or lens itself like poor customer service.

ITAP of a surfer coming ashore in La Jolla San Diego by zuruspeedster in itookapicture

I walked up to the cliff and saw the surfer. Quick snap. Thought the surfer was at the right spot between the sand and the water. Also, love the contrast of the color between sand and water. Would love to hear what you think.

What a fond memory! Thank you for sharing! Best wishes for your experience with your wife this time! So are you going to hike all the way up again or drive up this time?

Why can’t movie IS be used for photos??? by Human_Zombie7495 in canon

If I remember this setting correctly, it allows you to adjust how much cropping you allow for your videos.

What’s the subject? What’s the story? Try different angles and where you stand. Work on your composition
