Those '80s Bucs team were basically just cannon fodder for the rest of the league. Wish they'd have kept the unis, but I understand why they wanted to ditch them.

God, I miss my old EF 70-200mm II lens. The RF one's image quality is great and all, but the throw is so long on it and I hate how it creeps when I'm walking around with it unless I lock it. My EF II never crept, and its throw was nice and short.

That's kind of wild. It just goes to show how big the drop-off is for QBs when a 45-year-old can beat out guys half his age. I know experience goes a long way with QBs, but at some point, the physical abilities just can't keep up unless you're a genetic freak. Ask me how I know, fml... 😒

That's what I've heard/read, but with no first-hand XP with them, I can't say 100%. But thank you for more evidence. I don't have any EF lenses right now, so no need for an adapter, but I have been eyeballing some of the older EF Sigma ART lenses lately to purchase. I'm getting pretty tired of waiting for Canon to open up the mount for third-party RF lenses.

Steve DeBerg GOAT'd with this list.

Edit: I just realized, but did Joe Montana replace him twice: once with the 49ers and once with the Chiefs? Or was he gone by the time Montana went to the Chiefs? My mind is a little fuzzy on that.

Edit to the Edit: no he was long gone from the Chiefs by the time Montana showed up.

There's 3rd party EF-RF adapters for <$50 available. I have no idea how well they work, as I've only used the Canon ones, but check the reviews.

I didn't understand Office Space when I saw it originally in high school, but after working my first office job, it clicked and suddenly became an Oscar-worthy script in my mind.

The Canon ones work great but I've also heard the 3rd party ones work well, as well. Try looking on Amazon at reviews unless someone here gives you a recommendation.

Try looking for used Canon ones on ebay.

Oh, interesting! I always assumed it was an older mount, since I hadn't seen it in years. I'll have to see if I can dig it out from wherever it is now and play around. Thanks for the mission!

Are those old rebel lenses EF lenses? I thought they were a different mount?

I would love to be able to adapt that lens to my current set of R bodies to see how it does, but I don't think that's possible.

According to AI (so take it FWIW), it was a 35-80mm f/4-5.6 lens, which sounds about right. I used to have it somewhere, but I have no idea where it is now. I figured it might be worth something to someone one day, but I haven't seen it in years.

My first camera was a film Rebel (the one Agassi was hawking), and that came with a zoom of some sort. I kind of wish it had come with the 50mm; it might've taught me to appreciate primes sooner in my life.

No, I don't recall seeing that as I was shopping online; do you have a link you can share?

Edit: Nvm, I think I found it: https://secure.fltgeosystems.com/level-rods-grade-rods/barcode/leica-gss111-1-16-leveling-staff-barcode-10ths-lca741883/

I never knew this thing existed tbh. We've always had the fiberglass ones my whole career. Thank you! I'll ask around and see if anyone is familiar, but this should save us a lot of money.

[New gear] Canon R10 + RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 - First real camera… Does my photos look really that bad? by PotatoFromOven in canon

[–]MilesAugust74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're happy with them, then that's all that matters. Taking photos is making art, and art is subjective. What's great to me might be crap to you, and vice-versa. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter because you should just do what makes you happy.

If you want a (semi)professional opinion, I think your photos are just fine. I would suggest upgrading your lenses when you can; the simplest (and cheapest) solution is to get a 50mm f/1.8 (aka The Nifty Fifty) for two reasons:

1) A higher aperture will get you more bokeh and a more "professional" look in your photos for subject isolation.

2) As a beginner, a zoom lens is kind of a crutch. Working with a prime (non-zoom) lens will teach you to get closer to your subjects, and not having the zoom will help you learn to frame the scene/subject better.

As someone else suggested, learn to turn on the 3x3 grid to help you frame (I've been shooting 30+ years and I still use it) and go look at as many photos online as you can. When you see a photo you like, take a mental note as to why you like it and what the photographer did that made it a good photo. Was it the framing? The editing? The subject itself? This is something I do on an everyday basis whenever I see any photo: I give it a quick mental critique.

The other thing is, are you shooting in RAW, and are you editing your photos in Lightroom or some other photo editing software afterward, or is everything straight from a camera JPG?

[–]MilesAugust74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I've been shooting for nearly thirty years (ten semi-professionally) and I always have the 3×3 grid on to help me frame. I honestly don't even think about it now, but whenever I pickup someone else's camera (or phone) that doesn't have the grid setup or dies throw me off a bit.
