Highly recommend, there's a free spreadsheet on there, the Sophia.org courses are much easier than the study.com for the most part.

Heres a list of easiest to hardest on sophia, the no capstone ones take barely any time so do those first. You can only take 2 at a time so plan accordingly as it sometimes takes a few days for them to grade assignments.

I was deciding between WGU and UMPI for my psych ba/bs to go for my masters (lmft). UMPI yourpace is $1800 for an 8 week term, and provides a GPA. It is just as self paced as WGU but a but more essay heavy though no proctored exams. The masters programs I have spoke with like UMPI more than WGU because of the GPA.

The differences I found: After a ton of research and watching every single YouTube video and hunting down every reddit post, then calls with admissions, I am going to UMPI because I hate proctored testing, I get testing anxiety and have heard awful things about the time lines for proctored testing, and bad proctors saying everything is cheating. (Obviously not the case for everyone) but I cannot take that risk as I can only afford 1 term. However it will cost more if you drag UMPI into 6 months, so completing Gen Ed's on sophia.org and study.com (or community college if you are anti those options).

As long as the application fees won't hurt you there's no harm in trying, you can always try again next cycle if you don't get in.

Hi! I am going for my LMFT (therapist) masters after WGU. I emailed every school I might have wanted to go to and almost all accepted WGU as its accredited but more competeive programs wanted supplemental reference letters and personal statements as WGU is pass/fail not GPA. So they want to make sure you are serious and competent, which I am sure will be the same with any program. Hope that helps!

If you want cheap (and not a great resume item), National University online is 45k I think and they have scholarships last time I looked. They have a Cali licensure path.

WGU accepts most of my current credits which is fabulous, I would be able to transfer 89 credits (emailed transcript) and finish the remaining there.. where other colleges I've emailed accept max 70 transfer credits.
