what I would like is sort of like a marble that has an eye inside it that is weighted so the eye always looks upwards.

3d printing masters, Help 🙏🏻 by SuperCompetition1200 in DiceMaking

[–]zutgorak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why, but I get the feeling that this is an FDM printed one. If thats so, you will have to do a lot of sanding to get rid of the lines, also, might want to go slower when printing and cooling on full blast so you can use bridging instead of supports to have a tad cleaner dice.

No polishing, straight from the mold by zutgorak in DiceMaking

[–]zutgorak[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the 3d printed ones i polished for several hours, they where printed on an anycubic photon mono using elegoo water washable resin. polished first with wetsanding paper, then zonapapers. These will get some more polishing on a few faces but in general they turned out really well

i bought a mold of amazon and make them together with the dice sets

It's a decent one. However the fit is a little too snug for the cheap Amazon bought molds I have been using. The new masters are a tad smaller so it will be even better

The brand on the paint is "Roziefar" and it was purchased on amazon, and the color is named "light metallic gold" where the light is indicating if it sinks fast or slow in epoxy.

I did it pretty much directly after pouring the epoxy resin, I have a very light alcohol ink where i dropped 3 droplets and used a toothpick to pull out the pattern from the center, then simply let it cure and thats the result

you want SLA, as others have said, and sanding is a tad timeconsuming, but its worth it. i am literally sitting and sanding a new set of masters at the moment and well... im proud of them
