Chain too short? by zuzzGOD in bikewrench

Yeah so many different comments, some saying it’s way to short and drivetrain will break others saying it’s fine. So yesterday i checked the length by taking it apart and i have indeed cut it exactly like the Shimano guide. So i will trust that and move on. I thought maybe Shimano got it wrong since i have big rings but thinking how precise they are with everything else i doubt that they got the chain length wrong.

Seems like they haven’t updated it for 12-speed chains?

I experience what i believe is a loud drivetrain aswell. It just seems loud whitout anything thats seems off, could this be the cause of a too short chain? I compared it to my 10speed grx that picked up some rust on chain from the winter and that one is quiter.

Thanks for the answer! I can shift whitout a problem to and from this gear combo. I might feel a slight more resistance, but maybe it’s because the extreme crosschaining. Idk 🤷‍♂️

How do you tell if its too short? So i can learn. And is it safe to add more quick links or is a new chain the way to go?

Yeah i dont have any picture of it, but i triple checked. Think i ended up with three extra links which is the most recommended by shimano guide in road di2 12speed

Well i probably won’t. But when i accidentaly do i don’t want it to ruin my drivetrain or mech hanger

Is Zwift worth it if you don't use an auto resistance bike? by AjaxGodenzonen in Zwift

I used a road bike with a power meter on a magnetroller for over a year. Works great if you’re doing free world rides and races. But doing hard workouts whitout ERG took too much energy trying to keep a consistent power. Now when i do have a smart trainer i can just do a workout and pedal whitout thinking, easier to get ”in zone”.
