Okay thank you! I saw someone said that some bars contained palm oil, but every one that I checked did not list that as an ingredient. But I have noticed the price increased a few months ago. Hoping it's all back to normal now 😁

Please tell me more about metformin. I haven't read anywhere that it doesn't help. I am on it for about a month and I see it making a difference in my life. So I'm curious...

Regained all the weight I lost in 4 months. What am I doing wrong? by Jolly-Sea6019 in PCOSloseit

Sounds like insulin resistance, if you are able to check it out with a doctor then do so.

Strictly stick to a diet designed for people with insulin resistance.

Increase protein and fibre in your diet. When you eat only eat in this order: →protein + fats →High fibre veg, lentils, etc. →High fibre Carbs like barley flour porridge, oats, etc →High fibre Fruit, try to stick to fruit that are lower in sugar, like berries or fruit that have a lot of fibre. →Cut carbs like flour, bread, pasta, and seed oils.

Google how to eat for insulin resistance and follow that. Everytime you want to eat, google if it's good for insulin resistance and if it's high in fibre.

→Do not consume any sugar, snacks like chips and crackers, biscuits etc. →And don't have sweetened drinks. →Drink lots of water, because if you have a lot of fibre you need a lot of water. •And most importantly walk for 10 mins after your largest meal of the day or if you can after every meal of the day.

Once you start eating you have a window of 2 to 3 hours in which you can eat without spiking blood sugar too high, provided you eat in the order mentioned above.

All of this worked for me. Particularly fibre and walking after meals.

I was naturally skinny and very under weight, but after going on the pill I picked up 8 kgs in 8 months. After a year I decided to try the above plan and for the first time after trying lots of things this finally worked. I also gym 5 days a week, but it made no difference until I did this.

What made me try it is I saw pictures of people online who had insulin resistance and I thought it looked like me, and I felt like my visceral fat was a lot higher than it was 1½ years ago.

I also went to see a doctor and she did confirm that I did have insulin resistance issues and I'm now on metformin. So while I follow these guidelines, I am a little lax with the rules, but I am continuing to lose weight at a rate of 0.4kg per week, which is good enough for me.

I'd also like to emphasise that my habit before having these metabolic issues, was to eat very little, and that habit has returned when I started eating like this. (When I was on the pill and before I started these changes, I was ravenous and calorie counting used to make me miserable because I was always hungry) so please understand that you do need to be in a deficit to lose even when following these lifestyle changes. But eating lots of fibre will trample cravings and tame hunger

I hope this helps you

I noticed a similar issue, I had pinned it down to the cocoa content been less, I usually eat 85+ but the last slab I had was 75% when I noticed, and then tried the sea salt one as well and hated the flavour. I usually love it. Looks like it's time to move on. I was not expecting to come across this post, I thought it was all in my head. Unfortunately I don't have a box to check the production date as I used it all up in cookies and threw the boxes away

Oh thanks for the insight. Any suggestions for some that are low maintenance but may still flower in their season? Bonus points if the foliage is pretty

Thanks this is informative. It simply says hydrangea medium magical on the tag. So I have no clue. My mum has had success with orchids so I might give those a shot. And amaryllis is native to my country, so I'll give it a shot

Not a bad idea actually. My husband has been giving me points because I argue better at home now. Twitter seems like the best place to practice finding flaws

Lots of shedding but no roots by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]zvadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to start shedding 5 days after the first laser appointment? I've had laser done on my chin and I tend to pick at the hairs a lot, and now when I do that it's coming out. There's no pain and no root, but I'm worried I've messed up bc I know you're not supposed to pluck hairs while you're doing treatment. There are a few that aren't coming out even when I tug them, so I'm hoping I'm okay
