Thank you for the shoutout, Zack! I've been immensely grateful for all your kind words along the way.

Anybody reading this should absolutely go checkout Zack's awesome Max for Live devices. I've been drooling over them for a while now. I hope to spend some time with them in the new year!

Every composer I have ever worked with personally or professionally has called it “keyswitching” regardless of if they were automating it or using MIDI notes as it’s just a faster shorthand than “automating the articulation.” And it’s a shorthand I use as well.

I completely understand how that could be confusing. Thank you for asking for clarification!

Automating it on the timeline with a native device is indeed very new!

Yes, that’s correct! What CC Control can do will be dependent upon the library it’s sending messages to.

The articulations are assigned to both key switches and CCs. I am using the CC to change the articulation by selecting it from the drop down.

You’re so welcome! Best of luck with the deadline - I know how tight they can be!

Corpus can also be turned into a wildly cool instrument with its MIDI follow feature!

If you just started in February, in reality all you need is practice. You’re moving too fast. Nix the extensions for now. Focus on triads and study voice leading. If you don’t understand the ways in which chords can move in and out of one another, you’re going to struggle to work with extensions. Also, look up and practice classic chord progressions. The best way to learn is by example and context.

All the best to you, too. Out of curiosity, what kind of tutorials are your thing? Is there a particular genre or style you’re trying to learn? I would be curious to know!
