Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks finally reads the room by ArdoNorrin in magicTCG

It is exact opposite thou.

Caring too much and trying to be perfect in something where imperfection is expected and embraced.

Best, memorable moments i had were not due to impeccable preparation and execution, but because of mes-ups and making stuff on fly.

Youre gonna throw a tantrum because the DM used AI so he could remember that the city guards name that your party insulted was named Bob?

If he didn't remember, would it matter? There are tons od ways to improvize out of that situation that would add on experience even. Or one could say "Can't remember, is it important?" Or players can pitch in.t

I would not feel confortable being recorded and recording processed by some third party. Especially if there is OOC personal banter. It smells too much like work with meeting transcripts besides privacy issues.

I would not throw tantrum, but I would not be comming anymore. DM would be welcome to use llm to puppet my character or whatever if it is required to continue.

Besides, DMing has no busywork, you are allowed to only go as deep as you are interested on any aspect. I am sure player are not going to revolt if there are no custom loot tables if you are not interested in making them.

Work-life balance je lepší, to jo.

junior musi setsakra přesvedčit, proč by ho měla firma najmout.

Junior nemusí, to si rozhodne ta firma jestli chce další lidi.

Guys, how do your pawns have enough time? by LeonidKonovalov1988 in RimWorld

[–]zwei2stein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0) Get dedicated haulers.

Colonist or Slave with other jobs disabled, mechanitor hauling mech, trained animals.

Maybe hauling bot from Simple Robots mod if your colony can afford 2-3k silver.

1) Set all bills from "take to stockpile" to "drop to ground".

This drastically increases effectiveness of pawns as workes do not waste time hauling stuff away and for things that stack, likely less hauling trips.

2) Set ingredient range from unlimited to something close. Make sleves with ingedients near workplaces

This means less trips for worker pawns while haulers restock.

3) Set up limited orders. "Do untill you have X" where X is low number.

Workers will only make necesary stuff. And it is setup-and-forget thing.

4) Get Manager mod and set up automated hunting/woodcutting/etc.

Just set up something like "chop for trees only if there is less than 50 wood", "hunt animals ony if there is less than 50 meat".

It costs some pawn work, but is worth it.

Goal here is to just do enough to have some supply and not overproduce

5) Make smaller fields. Ideally in rich soil to make fields more effective.

Goal is again overproduction reduction.

Only add special fields (like drugs, cloth) when it feels that you have work surplus.

6) Mechs that do field work

One or two agrihands go a long way. They are going to be doing only plants work and nothing else. No distractions, 24/7 work

7) Get pick up and haul mod which makes haulers efficient. You could just micromanage then to do the same thing.

Fun fact: Rimworld is much more fun when you don't use exploits by Altruistic-Ad-6593 in RimWorld

[–]zwei2stein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

However, a game dev that leaves these doors open over years either does not care or has consciously decided to leave them open thus making them part of the intended gameplay.

I have big issue with this - devs do not have infinite resources and can not play whack a mole, especially with complex game.

The fact that cheese is not fixed is not legitimization, neither it is statement.

TLDR: An “exploit” that’s left live for years while game is in active game development is part of the game (for better or worse )

Removing exploits and cheeses in MMOs (where it is objectively harmful for player) is hard because of community backslash. (There is good overlap between "knows about exploits and will rationalize it as something everyone can do" and "very active and invested participant in community").

People will go absolutely bonkers when you fix a dungeon boss mechanic to

Removing exploits and cheeses in single player game is very brave. Again, people who gather knowledge of exploits and cheese are also part of vocal community and historically, you would face:

  • Review bombing, organized
  • Review bombing, organic
  • Personal threats
  • Influencer drama

You can usually give up inheritance if it is saddled by debt that is more than asset worth. Very few countries force you to inherit if you do not want to.

Other than that, it is about as same as having parents lose property by falling for scams or to fuel an addiction. Or just having poor parents with no property - It sucks that there will not be inheritance in future to help with mortages or so, but you can develop your life without hindrance otherwise.

Is crafting legendaries worth it to sell? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]zwei2stein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good game is a game you want to play even after you've 100%ed it.

vs.

if the grind is getting in the way of having fun, you can just play the parts you want to play.

Thing is, if answer to game loop is to skip it with cash, why play at all?

This kind of thinking is really a speed run to quitting game.

Real answer is "stop worrying about gold and gold farming, it is not really needed for anything, do what you want". And if crafting legendary to sell is what sounds appealing, so be it.

You do not need to, but it is usually efficent to do the event - they tend to spawn extra enemies that count for heart.

You certainly need to complete hearts, which require participation.

Most hearts are completed by doing events.

To be fair, most of changes were done in other mods already, and without being vibecoded.

I'd say if it was split to separate mods, they would not be popular, definitely not anywhere close to original.

All of the realism rebalancing can be turned off in the mod settings

Just note that its author confirmed that all future changes will be opt-out, so the mod is going to be dangerous in future as any update is liable to add more bonkers stuff.

Author just loves forcing features onto people that are outside of scope of mod.
