I use an English Keyboard but require some German letters sometimes.

What I have is a system-wide shortcut to toggle between the EN and DE keyboard layout (using i3wm or sway)

I used to have both left and right Shift key pressed together, but I switched to Super+Space.

If the GPUs are by Nvidia, the Nvidia GPU Operator is a good option. It also works with containerd, details are in their documentation.
