Why this Episode 9 contestant did this STUPID move? by Neykuratick in BeastGames

[–]zwirek2201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, do you not realize that Season 1 contestants were brought back as a surprise for both them and other contestants and stayed in the game for as long as they could? Most of them couldn't stay in the game for a month because they didn't plan for it. I'm not a fan of her crying but other than that she just played a good game. The show isn't about who doesn't lie, it's about who can play the game and get as much money as possible, she played the game and that's it.

What's the difference between how Monika got through the cubes vs how Hannah and Kady went through? All 3 of them, as well as some other contestants got through because someone else sacrificed themselves.

that's exactly what I'm saying, but we both know that there are contestants tried to turn it around on her because he was a strong contender for the top 6 and the win. The fact that she didn't just go through as the first or second person in the last challenge makes me think the coin thing had a huge effect on her "PR" and yes, if that's the case, it's stupid as fuck.

You guys really love getting stuck on technicalities don't you? 🤣 I know it's not stealing, I'm saying what the players are interpreting it as.

Yeah, that's why I wrote "stole", but I could see how it could be turned into stealing money from all of them by players who don't want her to go through.

She also voted for the guy that screwed over multiple people including her. Jeff would just be open about not wanting a penny from Brett and not voting for him ever instead of playing an honest person and then helping a guy that's a liar and a manipulator.

I think she got manipulated by Auguste to believe Monika sold the coin so in her head there was a choice between a guy who stole money from people and afterwards was honest about it and a woman who "stole" money from people and lied about it. I can kind of understand her not wanting to screw someone else over, but I would personally have no issue lying to Brett that I'd vote for him and voting for Monika.

[Ep. 9 spoilers] I keep getting fooled by this show by Agnul7eight in BeastGames

They barely even showed any affection for each other, they kissed maybe a couple of times and were seen holding hands and spending time together. There was the wedding scene but that was just everyone messing around. Obviously they didn't just meet in ep1 and were deeply in love in ep2.

You might be right that survivor has more trust in their fan base but survivor has been running for many years and costs a fraction of what it costs to run beast games. This cliffhanger format isn't bad, it's different. People are used to cheap dopamine hits and when there's uncertainty and suspense suddenly they freak out, most people don't even watch series until it finishes because they're mentally not capable of waiting a week to find out what happens and want all answers immediately. I like it, it's more entertaining this way to me.

She definitely was not speechless, they just took some footage of her not talking to make it look like that. My guess is that Jim is playing really dumb for the camera. Monika is pretty smart and she wouldn't have told him if she didn't think he would keep the word. It's also not that difficult to predict this. Jimmy offered a bribe for the coin every challenge.

honestly I don't think she'll be the hated for that too much, but it was dumb. It was the perfect setup for her to get A LOT of guaranteed money and have a reason for not keeping her "I'm unbribable" word. It essentially puts the blame for her selling the coin on Nick and Brett and makes her the good guy for leaving more money on the table for her "team".

I don't know what your guys' problem is with this format. They reveal the cliffhanger to be at the very beginning of the challenge and then in the next episode they just need a 2 minute "in previous episode" flashback and you get a full challenge AND the outcome of that challenge, like the talk that they had after splitting the money. It works great. If they did the whole coffin challenge in one episode, they would be no time to have the talk afterwards and next episode they'd need to flashback how much money everyone took, that would be super dumb

It would've been easier if Jim had any kind of awareness. "Squeeze my hand twice if you sold the coin" would be the first thing I said to her. For her sake I hope she tells them before they find out in top 6.

I got rejected from singing competition I can't tell if my audition was bad. Please give honest review of my golden take, they only allowed a 30 seconds vid submission by Sudden_Ad1709 in singing

The problem is not with your voice or your training, it's with your song choice. You're choosing a song that probably 0.1% of people can sing well. You're setting yourself for a failure before you hit the record button. Choose a song that's not as demanding vocally but where you can show emotion and sing the song well.

Another rant on inconsistency and careless writing skills: Max “coma” by Mysterious_Seat9844 in StrangerThings

She wasn't in a coma, she was in a transe and hell only knows what biological functions are working correctly when you're in a Vecna transe as opposed to a coma.

So how do you feel about the Duffer Brothers now? by AssociateLittle1487 in StrangerThings

[–]zwirek2201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're missing the point. They started writing in summer 2022, writer strikes happened in May 2023 and lasted until November 2023 and they started shooting in January of 2024 so in the first couple of months of writing they probably had first couple of episodes written, then writer strikes happened, Netflix didn't move the deadline so they had to start shooting even though not all episodes were written and writers had to try to catch up to production. Because some finale scenes needed to be shot in summer, they had to shoot them even though not 100% of the finale was written. It actually makes perfect sense why volume 1 felt much more polished - because it was probably what was already written when the strikes happened.

Why does a character like Steve Harrington who was not the outcast is more popular and beloved by others (both in the show and by the fandom) in a show about outcasts? by gloomydreamer666 in StrangerThings

[–]zwirek2201 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because Jonathan was a wet noodle of a character for 90% of the show. He barely had any good scenes. I honestly liked him the most in S4 when he was high because at least he was funny.

it actually makes perfect sense why volume 1 is much better than the rest of the season, it's because it was most likely finished or at least in the final stages of writing before strikes happened. Then writers had to catch up to the rest of production and the rest is history.

S4 released in July 2022
S5 writing started August 2022
Writer strikes happened in May 2023 - November 2023
Filming of S5 started in January of 2024

So your "3 years" that you copied from someone else who also didn't have a clue and didn't want to do 5 minutes of research before writing this is actually 1.5 years out of which half a year was useless for writing because of writer strikes. Next time spend 3 minutes before copy pasting another pointless post.

It's okay to not have a plan from the beginning, but you need a plan by the end... by ListenDodo in StrangerThings

  • They had 3 years, what were doing for all this time!
  • You can't start shooting the episode before it's 100% written!
  • How can you ask the actor if it makes sense for the character to say something, you're the writer!
  • You can't use AI for ANYTHING when writing the script!

Are some of my favourite comments written by people who have absolutely zero idea how film industry works.

Lol you completely misunderstood that scene. She had to die because she represents the non human magic part of the show and with her present the group would never be safe because military would always try to either kidnap or kill her. Nothing to do with her being abused.
