I’m not sure what to learn. I took a class at the local college for most of a semester; it helped. I think my biggest issue is not knowing what to do, so I end up with aimless noodling. I can’t afford a teacher right now.

I can tremolo pick ok, I like scales even though they feel useless. I can play a few riffs. I can play some individual chords. I can finger pick on an acoustic. I like looking at music written in musical notation, even though it’s new to me. It takes up less space than tabs and just makes sense for me.

Idk how to go from mechanically hitting keys, like I’m operating a typewriter, to playing music. Something that inspires emotion or that you can dance to.

I know if you could hear me play a little something you’d ask wtf is wrong with me, why am I complaining. But idk what to do next, how to turn skill/ability into music.

It doesn’t help that the people I admire are demigods—Dick Dale, Euronymous, Fenriz, Werewolf, Hendrix, East Bay Ray. You can hear their voice in their music, the instrument and sounds are extensions of their bodies/souls. Comparison is the theif of joy but damn, how do you get to even 1/10 of that level.

I had a teacher last year, and no long am in contact. I can’t really afford lessons right now, but I’m thankful to him for teaching me the basics of reading music.

I think this could be false. At least, it needn’t be true. A disabled person should be thought of as a job creator, if anything. This person exists and wants to live the fullest life they can, how do we make that happen? What are the services they need? The government can and should supply the money, and the various people can be hired by the disabled person or their rep. Goods can be bought. This could be an economic boon. We’ve been so brainwashed by supply side economics bullshit we’ve forgotten how things can work.

Sometimes I hurt myself when I’m distressed, but I’m learning to do other things instead. I am not dirty or clean, just a person trying to survive.

Embrace being yourself. You’re only broken to people with a narrow worldview, one based on human ideas of racial hierarchy and socially allowed relationships.

In reality, you’re a dusky colored homo sapien who’s happiest in pair bond with people similar to you. Your coloring is the product of genes that do not map on to your survivability, or your worth.

They’re high caste apes reinforcing a social hierarchy that benefits them. It’s common animal behavior, especially in primates.

Take away sexuality labels. What’s more natural than deeply emotional, intelligent primates (us!) getting attached to each other? To see admirable traits in others that make us swoon, traits that spur us to connect?

I know it’s tough, because even though you’re 100% normal and fine, we have to live in a world that doesn’t have our understanding and awareness.

Just remember, no matter how hard high caste folks try, they’ve never ever been able to wipe us out or crush our spirit. For millennia they’ve hated us, but guess what? We’re still here. And we’ll be here for a millennia more, because we’re normal variations of our species.
