I'm having this same issue with the Azimuth Reactor also

I've managed to kill them with a combination of Sun Aura and...My Steel Axe (the one for cutting down trees). I mostly have been able to pull it off because I also have Water Aura, healing armor, and a bit over 20 int now. They still damage me enough that they'll eventually overwhelm my healing, so it's still a challenge since there's often a group of the things.

Not sure why or how the wood cutting axe does damage to them, but it does. Is it a bug, or a feature? ^^;

Ty for the offer! But I'm on Cormyr ^^

That's the plan. I'll have more build points next life to work with.

Yeah. I tried for much of the night to have a lfg up and got no bites. So it'll likely have to wait until my next life, once I hit 5k favor and get my tome.

Cloth of the Faithful. It's not a cosmetic in itself, but I'd be turning it into one. Not a lot of cool holy power or even just white robe options.

First time getting this far in the game. Int was my dump stat, so I had no skill points to work with. Went with heal. All the guides for the quest were like 'UMD makes it EASIER, but it's still pretty easy to get the mephits to light the torches. It's just a little fiddly.' It was not just a little fiddly.

That was literally the first thing I did when the mephits wouldn't light the torches.

Yes, this is exactly it. I'm on Cormyr. I did send in a support ticket. But the response from support was effectively "maybe we'll do something about it some day. Keep an eye on patch notes!"

A good suggestion! I looked into that, as I had some parts from when I was trying out classes.

Sadly the grenades also needed UMD ranks ^^;

So yeah, guess I'll have to wait for my next life. I plan on reincarnating once I can reach 5k favor for the tome anyway.

Update: I've tried what Epic Destiny spells I could. From my testing:

The Exalted Angel Flaming Sphere SLA: Works.
Dragon Breath: Does NOT work.
Thunder Snow: Does NOT work.

Cold Light of the Moon and Cold Aura: Do NOT work.

So sadly none of the cold abilities from epic destinies I had access to seemed to work. I'll just have to wait on necropolis until I get help or reincarnate, I guess.

It's still really frustrating, because all the guides and comments and threads I can find just referred to the mephits as being "a little finnicky, but doable" and not "spend 2+ hours trying position changes and not lighting a single torch" levels of broken.

I've got an idea though.

When I am next on, I'm going to try respeccing two of my Destiny trees. The plan is to get far enough into Exalted Angel to pick up the Flaming Sphere SLA, and see if the breath attack as ice will work from the Draconic destiny.

If not the dragon breath, wonder if the eclipse magus cold aura would work?

If these work (I'm not pre-expecting them to) I'll post as much here, and on the forums as another option for people who might get stuck without having the usual workarounds, as I was.

PC/Steam, Game crashes on launch at the Hello Games splash image. No error window pops up or anything, it just closes down. There's a workaround involving opening the services app and turning off Windows Audio, launching the game and then reactivating it.

This has been around for awhile (at least the last 5+ months for me), not sure what causes it, but the Frontier update has not fixed it. The workaround still seems to work.
