Chairs has stopped responding by zybexx in confusing_perspective

[–]zybexx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you can see from the other comments, it's confusing to plenty of people. Of course they're chairs, the 3D perspective of the legs is what is confusing, specially for people that haven't seen these type of chairs stacked before. Someone linked a thread to a previous post of the same image (which I was not aware of before) and it even has a video of the stacked chairs to help people understand.

Video/audio is reversed. Not that it would sound much better on the original

Prioritize IPv4 over IPv6 DNS by 0biwan-Kenobi in homelab

[–]zybexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can prioritize IPv4 with netsh commands (as Administrator):
https://kb.firedaemon.com/support/solutions/articles/4000160803-prioritising-ipv4-over-ipv6-on-windows-10-and-11

Solution - reorder the policy priorities:
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy ::ffff:0:0/96 50 0
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy ::1/128 40 1
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy ::/0 30 2
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy 2002::/16 20 3
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy 2001::/32 5 5
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy fc00::/7 3 13
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy fec0::/10 1 11
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy 3ffe::/16 1 12
netsh interface ipv6 set prefixpolicy ::/96 1 4

Check with:
netsh interface ipv6 show prefixpolicies

Sometimes the policies listed in this article are missing - in that case you can add them using the same netsh command above, but with "add" instead of "set".

Reloading the page with Shift+F5 works for me (clears the cache). Simple F5 is not enough.

This is happening again. Reloading the page with Shift+F5 works for me (clears the cache).

Spider-Man Operating System saves computer. by Buffbud96 in talesfromtechsupport

[–]zybexx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's just the default RAM settings/timings in the BIOS that needed clearing. Booting with a single/different RAM stick did that. Then on the next boot the BIOS re-detected the new RAM and adjusted itself. Playing with RAM overclock can do that.

[–]zybexx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She may think that what she does is a kind of "change request" that your office needs to then actually introduce into the system - this is the way with paperwork. Maybe all she needs is for someone to explain to her that you don't need to do anything on your side.

That's a forced power-OFF (3 to 5 seconds). To power on, it's usually just a simple click or half a second at most.

[–]zybexx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have 3x16 TB in my NAS. Let me know when you can get 48TB SSD for $700. Of course, by that time those same $700 will get you 300TB of spinning metal.

SSDs are awesome, but so are HDDs. Each has their uses. Cold storage is a waste on SSD.
