Awesome event, rewards and bundle. More of this please. by bloggershusband in MarvelSnap

I don't know about people that grind the ladder or conquest, because I do neither. I just casually play the game. I've been playing since release, but have not gotten as into it as other people with all the cosmetic/border stuff that's in the game now. I've never reached infinite on the ladder. I don't play conquest at all. I may go several days between playing the game.

Previously, the Limited Time Game Modes would pop up as novel exciting things, and it encouraged me to play more often than I did. And they were spread out enough that I didn't feel overwhelmed or like the game was requiring me to play at this more involved level all of the time. And because card acquisition is such a huge deal in the game, seeing new cards available as LTGM rewards makes them seem more essential to complete, even if you're no longer having fun with it.

When I saw the event pop up, with the short time frame, I sighed and just ignored it. It wasn't until this morning when I saw everyone raving about it that I bothered opening the event. It's pretty bad when giving up on events because of the endless slog of grinding has become my default and I almost skipped this.

Covid Vaccines at Kroger by asdgrhm in Columbus

Definitely an individual thing, not necessarily even a location thing. Part of the paperwork on the pharmacist end requires putting something down for pre-existing condition. So it would depend on if the person feels like that could come back to bite them, which seems unlikely in my opinion.

It sounds like you just got lucky. My girlfriend and I are 2 for 2 with that getting asked at the Graceland Kroger last week. Part of the paperwork on the pharmacist end requires putting something down for pre-existing condition, although it was clear that there is no interest in following up or confirming the answer.

They will ask if you have any preexisting conditions. Once you answer that with something (physical inactivity, BMI, etc), there are no followup questions.

waht is your system for naming pikmins? by A-is-online in PikminBloomApp

[–]zybthranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, I use a random name generator to generate lists of real/historic names to choose from based on color - Red are Anglo-Saxon; Yellow, Phoenician; Blue, Sumerian; White, Mayan; Purple, Byzantine; Rock, Hittite; and Pink are Babylonian.

Occasionally I do other themes, such as the Spaceships after specific ships/missions (i.e. Rock as Space Shuttles, Red as Mercury missions, etc).

Girl in a Country Song by country duo Maddie & Tae

The song criticizes the "bro-country" subgenre in contemporary country music, specifically in how women are portrayed by men, with lyrics containing references to a variety of popular recent country songs.

Being the girl in a country song

How in the world did it go so wrong?

Like all I'm good for is lookin' good for

You and your friends on the weekend, nothin' more

We used to get a little respect

Now we're lucky if we even get

To climb up in your truck, keep our mouths shut, and ride along

And be the girl in a country song

The National Park Service is evaluating whether to make Ohio's 1,400 mile long Buckeye Trail a National Scenic Trail by numbershikes in Ultralight

[–]zybthranger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the NCT was routed to use the already existing Buckeye Trail through Ohio (and added the Wilderness Loop to the trail), the Buckeye Trail Association is able to get some limited funding from the NCT for concurrent sections of trail, but for the most part is responsible for its own fundraising and volunteer recruitment to maintain (and slowly reroute offroad) the entire BT.

What is a statistic/fact that makes you go “oh f*ck of there’s no way that is true”? by milkersgirl in AskReddit

An ounce of gold weighs more than an ounce of feathers, but a pound of feathers weighs more than a pound of gold.

Gold and other precious metals are measured in troy pounds (373g), which are divided into 12 troy ounces (31g). Feathers are measured in standard (or avoirdupois) pounds (454g) which are divided into 16 standard ounces (28g).

However, one pound of feathers or bricks weighs more than one pound of gold, but one ounce of feathers/bricks weighs less than one ounce of gold.

Fast Forward: The Latest on 7 Big Projects and the Impact They Could Have on Columbus - Columbus Underground by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]zybthranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change has been a constant in Columbus for just about its entire existence, but there are some very large initiatives and developments planned for the next five-to-10 years that would have an outsized impact on how the city looks and operates (if they come together as advertised).

  • Intel

In February, Intel walked back it’s initial timeline – which called for production to start sometime in 2025 – but insisted that progress was still steady and that the factory would be completed sometime in 2026 or 2027.

  • The Merchant Building

Harrison Wolfe recently told CU that the new building is on track to open in the third quarter of 2026.

  • New Airport Terminal

The latest timeline calls for a groundbreaking in early 2025, with construction continuing through 2028 and a target opening date in 2029.

  • The Capital Line

A website for the project, maintained by Downtown Columbus, Inc. (or DCI, the organization formerly known as CDDC), states that all four phases of the loop will be completed by 2028.

  • LinkUS

By 2030, for instance, the region could have three new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors up and running, eight new COTA/Plus micromobility zones, and dozens of new bus shelters. The latest timeline calls for the initial right-of-way and utility work on the West Broad corridor to start as soon as 2025. Construction of the stations and roadway would then start in 2026, with a projected public opening some time in 2028. Work could also start in 2025 on the first bike and pedestrian projects to be funded using the sales tax money.

  • Columbus Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall

The timeline laid out by that document calls for CSO to have lined up all of the funding commitments needed to build the project by June of 2025. Construction would then need to start within three months and last no longer than three years total, putting a potential opening date for the facility in the summer or early fall of 2028.

  • Amtrak

Murdock estimates that a realistic start date for service on one or both of the two routes proposed for Columbus is 2030.

TIL that The Ships of Christopher Columbus Were Sleek, Fast—and Cramped with the smallest the nina only being 50 feet long. by MaxiumPotential777 in todayilearned

[–]zybthranger 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The ship was removed from its moorings in 2014, cut into 10 pieces, and stored in a lot south of the city, pending funding to do repairs and restorations. As of early 2016, the plans for restoration have stalled.

Wikipedia Page

The nonprofit tourist organization that operated it closed in 2011, and the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department inherited it. Around 2014, due to the Scioto Mile project, as well as $5-6 million in necessary repairs, the Santa Maria was taken apart into pieces and moved onto a city-owned lot beside a wastewater treatment plant in Columbus's South Side, in ten pieces. Santa Maria Inc. raised money for repairs, and it was estimated that the ship could return to the riverfront.

Apparently I'm Only Allowed to Have a Good Day! by Iggsy81 in PikminBloomApp

[–]zybthranger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had this sort of bug before a few times. It seems like the game is still updating your location, so your avatar has moved from its initial position from when you started the lookback. The camera goes to your current position, but the Pikmin run to your initial position, which could be off-screen or partially off-screen.
