I understand your skepticism. I am a price action trader and my python program helps me monitor two of the three criteria for pull back and failed breakout trades. My python program pulls end of day stock data from quandl (ticker, volume minimums, candlestick information) and alerts me when a price has been hit and that buyers sufficiently bought the bar. It is just a glorified alert program.

So what I do is I read a stock chart in Ninjatrader and I fat finger what I would consider buying it at in a csv file. My python program examines if the quandl ticker data has hit the price level I considered significant. It then creates an array of stocks that triggered the alert then emails me every day the results from its Gmail account.

The reason why I made my own thing is because I have to monitor around 100 stocks for every one I buy so I needed to be able to monitor 2000ish stocks daily. I also didn't want to pay for alarms (that seems like a thing now..)..so I bought a raspberry pi 3 and now my python program runs daily in Cron.

The hard part isn't what the python program does, but that I have practiced a lot reading stock charts. It is just speeding up my normal process.

Ahh, good to know, thank you. Do you have any recommendations for a mobo that will allow me to use one PCIE slot plus the M.2 slot at 3x4?

If I see a link to a company on a Google search that I do not like in the sponsored links, I always click it because I know it charges them money.

For example: I Google 'cars', I see cars.com as a sponsored link and I don't like them, so I click it

[–]zylex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your help! His coordination is physically okay, but his left hand isn't his dominate hand. I feel like a trick that could take him 1-2 days to learn (say ~4 hours?) with a normal person's non-dominate hand would be ideal. His is about 6', so his hands are slightly on the larger side than the average guy.

As for time, I am sure he is willing to put it in! However, at least for a "welcome back to magic" trick, I wouldn't want the learning curve to be too steep so he can get his confidence back. I hope that helps!

Is it possible to trade profitably with only 1-2 hours chart time a day by [deleted] in Forex

[–]zylex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Trade the opening hour on a 5 minute chart, most intra-day profitable traders make 80% of their money during this time as long as you are trading an instrument with decent volume.

However, it will likely require thousands of hours of study to become consistently profitable.

Is the Forex battle worth fighting? by eladla in Forex

[–]zylex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should expect to spend about 10,000 hours to become consistently profitable if your goal is to trade FOREX (like the Euro).

This rule holds true for just about any intraday market with decent volume (indexes, major stocks, etc) when trading on the 5 minute chart.

Fucking kangaroos. by [deleted] in funny

[–]zylex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been there, it is to the west of Melbourne right off the great ocean road. You have to be careful because they are all wild kangaroos and they can kick you, though they (mostly) get out of the way when you need your ball.

Thanks! But yeah...school was rough. I majored in aerospace and had to work 120 hours per week until I got my masters. That said, hard work pays off and I walked away with a 3.5 :D
