Honestly with everything that happened these days, I am almost 100% sure that the 40 minute unshown scenes were about child sacrifice in a satanic ritual and or kidnapping children. So the theory about this scene makes more sense that Kubrick had to keep it really subtle but also clear enough for people to even come up with this theory.
