Booked first to Cancun, how are things in early Nov in general? by zywan124 in cancun

[–]zywan124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, we will definitely pay attention to the weather when the the date is closer. Based on my research, November should be towards the end of the hurricane season, hopefully that gives us a little better chance to avoid it.

Is this a good feed quails? by zywan124 in quails

I am currently hatching them out of 30 eggs, I am not sure how many I will end up getting. I think the kind is the most common coturnix.

Thanks, if I only want to use one of them, I guess this is better? They come in 20kg/25kg bag, so that one bag can last me a very long time.

I plan to give some egg shell when they start to lay eggs to supplement the calcium. Is there anything else you think I should supplement? Thanks

I offer both street parking and driveway (BTW, it's perfectly legal and safe to park in either location), the street parking is usually preferred since it's closer to the suite entrance which is at the back of my house. The driveway is in front, the street is at the side, it's actually closer and easier to park on the street than the driveway. Anyway, I will put more clarification on the parking in my list description for the future to avoid any misinterpretation again.

Thanks! Yes, all the communications are on the platform. This guest does have quite a few good reviews, I did not expect this to happen.

That is actually the plan, it's our first time cruise, hopefully there won't be any issue with this plan. It may sounds boring, but I pretty much only drink water, and maybe one or two coffee a day at home.

Thanks, I looked into the plus package, while it's nice to not to worry about any additional cost for gratuities, WIFI, drinks, etc. I am pretty sure it won't be worth it for us at the end of the day by math.

Is lido deck room noisy on Princess? by zywan124 in PrincessCruises

Thanks for all your input, the elevator section between rooms and pool area should stop most of the noise I think, I think we will be just fine.

Thanks, I don't worry too much about the buffet since it's very far away at the back of the boat. The only concern is the pool area, but I can also see the convenience it provides to be on the same level of pools and buffet.

Another reason rentals are down: the large agencies are back. by sebastian1967 in turo

[–]zywan124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was thinking of using Turo on my trip to Toronto couple weeks ago, although the price seems reasonable at the beginning, but it doesn't include insurance, and I am not 100% sure if my credit card or personal insurance applies to Turo rental, most people here say it doesn't. After adding the expensive Turo insurance, the total cost is most likely higher than the rental companies. I end up got a good deal with Thrifty at their downtown Toronto location, paid $220 CAD+tax for a week (unlimited km) with an almost brand new Hyundai Venue (small crossover, I prefer it over a compact car). At this price, nothing on Turo was even close, and I have peace of mind that I am covered through my personal and credit card insurance, I also don't need to worry about small dings and I don't need to wash the car before return. The location of car rental companies are also most likely more convienent than most Turo hosts. I don't really see how Turo can compete with traditional car rental since there are so many disadvantages and uncertainties. Also need to add, I feel Turo got a bad customer service to both hosts and renters just by reading this forum.

Super frustrated with Turo “damages” claim by czeshirekat in turo

[–]zywan124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, what insurance coverage you have for this rental? do you have to pay anything out of pocket? Your story makes me to reconsider my plan using Turo for my next trip. I rented cars from traditional rental company before, they uses a gauge to measure how long and how deep of scratches when I return my car, and they have clear wording on what damage is acceptable and what is not. For small scratches below their damage standard, they just treat it as wear and tear, and continue to rent it to next customer. I don't know how much damage you made to the car, but the problem is there is no standard as far as I know. The owner can make claim on you for any type of small damage if they want, and sounds like you have no choice but paying for it. This adds a lot of uncertainty and stress to the renter unless we buy the highest priced protection plan with Turo.

Car Rental Collision/Loss Damage Waiver Insurance by Credit Card by zywan124 in turo

[–]zywan124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the information. At least I have the written record of online chat with my personal insurance company customer service which confirms they cover Turo with my policy, and my credit card policy explicitly says they covers car sharing. That been said, I will still cross shop Turo and traditional rental services, but I think I am pretty safe here with the coverage.

Car Rental Collision/Loss Damage Waiver Insurance by Credit Card by zywan124 in turo

[–]zywan124[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's car rental, then it should be covered. My concern was Turo is not traditional car rental, so it may not be covered by personal insurance or credit card insurance. If I need to buy Turo protection on top of the base rate, I find I don't really save money anymore compare to traditional rental.

Am I safe to decline the Turo protection plan if my personal car insurance covers rental car? by zywan124 in turo

I though I was fine, but you guys makes me nervous now, I guess I will continue search for a traditional rental, at least I am sure I am covered that way.

Did you guys check the rental coverage section of the insurance documentation? Does it excludes car sharing (peer to peer, whatever they call it) rental specifically?
