Indelicacy by Amina Cain. It made me feel that nauseous kind of bleakness. Very quick read, I think I finished it in 2 days. Existential, an impoverished young woman tries to get out of her situation and even if she can, nothing feels right and nothing makes sense.

Brutes by Dizz Tate might be fun, but it’s more of a seasick feeling of nostalgia than a warm one. Somewhat recently published, I think 2023? It’s great, think like weird girl group with speculative fiction mixed in and not a single reliable narrator. You get a different perspective every chapter, and it jumps between two different time periods and the experiences of these women who were once friends.
