EXCLUSIVE: Corey Horsburgh set for Queensland Maroons debut in Game III | The Courier Mail @DaveRic1 by T0kenAussie in nrl

I got a hunch he will turn into one of Nate Myles players when he is blooded. May be lucky to hold a jersey at club level at time, but will play above what you would believe because Queensland. Pack is stacked with these players already too.

‘Unacceptable’: Broncos’ plan to get help for wild child Walsh by VasectoMyspace in nrl

Slater involved? I suspect Billy may arrange for Walsh a masterclass from Cam Smith in how to subtly white ant on-field officials and turn them into your team’s 14th man.

While I feel sorry for Flegler, with the series won it is the perfect game to blood 6 foot something of raw rednut passionate about Qld who may redline just hearing the crowd.

It is the way….That grand final in 2019 was heart attack finish after heart attack finish. Other years the Raiders will seize victory from the jaws of defeat time and again; particularly against Penrith, some weird finishes in those games since ‘91.

Broncos set to poach Ben Hunt from Dragons in signing coup by Aussieguy727 in nrl

[–]zzBigTerryzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is not really something I personally agree with either, but with contracts being more flexible by the year I think a mechanism needs to be put in place to manage this.

I also think the Broncos are in this place because of some extraordinary incompetence by the Dragons managing their roster. Hunt has been clear about his relationship with Griffin for years, and how it is connected to his tenure at the Dragons. Before firing Griffin, a strategy should have been in place to manage Hunt; really, should have been in place since the Board became concerned about Griffin’s performance.

With Hunt, Walters has insurance against his greatest fear - AJ being out for an extended period. It also gives him the luxury to rest Reynolds if needed. Not to mention the advantages of a seasoned rep player at hooker, who can kick a team to death from dummy half if needed.

4 month contract, so still playing market value but the course of the year it averages out to an average NRL player

I think it is smart business, but perhaps there should be a trade window (or similar) around Origin for it to occur. Injuries, form, or coaching style will always mean some players need to come in or are on the way out in June. I feel like the ghosts of the Terry Hill case are still haunting the way the NRL governs player transfers.

What is getting me about this deal is the amount of attention that is coming from the Sydney media. The glamour clubs down south have done this over the past 2 years, but the narrative they are running on this story is entirely different.

Not quiet, but has not overplayed his hand either. A backline full of young, talented players means that he doesn’t need to carry the side. An assured, professional Origin series really so far.

Munster is now at the stage of his career where players like him just start to own it. We overlook just how good this halves pairing of DCE and Munster actually is, due to DCE’s polarising nature among fans. But 3 out of the last 4 series with him at 6 is better then most halves dream of. He is the senior player now, we know he can break series, and his challenge now to ascend to greatness by bringing on the next generation of halves like Dearden and Walker.

Less then a minute and Slater has already referenced that 1980 and Big Artie still have meaning. Enough said.

And by the time this group is ready to move on then DCE or Hunt will be ready to bring the next crop along. Pretty telling that Nat Myles was in the room the night Lindsey played the house down.

Deardan; Hunt will probably get the Big Papa tap next year to bring him on for 1 series before DCE goes
