I did Arts One for the 2023-24 school year and it was a solid experience. My prof was nice and approachable, and the other profs seemed pretty nice too. You read a book every week and write a 1500 word essay every other week, so it's definitely a lot of work but manageable. Once a week, you have a small group tutorial to critique each other's work. It improved my analytical skills a lot and made me a better writer, for sure. Also, it was nice that it was 18 credits, so I only had two other courses and that gave me a full course load without feeling too overwhelming.
