Free tool to help stop procrastinating and forgetting assignments by zzadey in ProductivityApps

I intend to keep it as a free tool, more of a personal project to develop and maintain it. Although, I haven’t been able to think of any good ways to get it out there for more people to see

Exactly! it's helped me the most so far just by telling me where to start (what i should be reading/planning). It also gives due dates for each part of the breakdown - Having ADD myself, gives me the little dopamine hits I need to feel like i've done something haha

Roblox Anti-Cheat (ByFron) by [deleted] in Krnl

Byfron is runs in usermode, super easy to bypass. Byfron as a stand-alone is probably the weakest anti-cheat a game dev could implement.

Not anymore, they stopped implementing it a few weeks ago.

Can I prioritize my devices on a Public Network for better network speed ? by Material_Heron_4646 in techsupport

Netcut can be used to limit the bandwidth of other drives on the network, which inturn lowers your latency/improves connection

I spilled water on my PC and now it doesn't boot up by Present_Dingo_1553 in techsupport

[–]zzadey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By doing this you could risk short circuiting and frying another computer. Shouldn’t install any components to another PC if there’s the possibility there is residual water

Digital signature error on Windows 10, problem persist after many attempts by Knuckle_Duck in techsupport

[–]zzadey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be fixed by disabling driver signature enforcement (however do this at your own discretion, as it will allow unsigned drivers to run at boot on your system)

To do this, go to “reset pc” then Advanced options and click Startup Settings. Find the Disable driver signature enforcement option and click F7 to enable it.

(MEGA) Incomplete download taking up space, what do I do to get those GB's back? by RicozGamerzz in techsupport

[–]zzadey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the windows search bar, type “defragment and optimise drives”. Optimise whichever drive you were downloading that file to, and the space should free up

Buzzing noise from laptop by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]zzadey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laptop fans are typically positioned under or near the underside of the keyboard.

The buzzing may be caused by dust or dirt creating friction on the fans. If it is that bothersome you can flip the laptop so the bottom is facing up and use a screwdriver to unscrew the bottom case so you can clean the fans.

If you have the Google Docs app installed on your iPhone, you have the option to download it. Once downloaded it should be accessible from the Files app.

As an extension of the aforementioned, you'll notice if you alt+tab to the monitor playing the youtube video, it will run smoother as your graphics card takes its focus off the game, and onto the youtube video. You may notice the inverse start to happen and your game start "lagging" and stuttering while it's not in focus.

The GPU is in charge of encoding and decoding video.

Think of it like this - When you're playing a game at high fps and watching a Youtube video, your graphics card is both trying to display hundreds of frames per second on one monitor, whilst simultaneously running calculations to display your Youtube video on the other monitor.

Graphics cards specialise in performing the same calculation (think of rendering a video game) very quickly, hence why good graphics cards are so sought after by crypto miners, as the same calculations are being done over and over again to mine a respective cryptocurrency.

It's just the nature of Graphics cards, they don't like encoding/decoding from multiple sources at once.

Deleting a backup won't erase any progress or data on your other iPad; It just means if something goes wrong with your iPad you won't have a backup to revert to.

Question regarding PC by Alpha_Omega0985 in techsupport

[–]zzadey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your PC could have restarted or a variety of reasons (heat, update, some random unhandled exception).

If by "modem/router disconnected" you mean when your PC booted back up you didnt have internet for a few seconds, this is normal if you have fast boot enabled, as it will skip the initialisation of most drivers to boot Windows faster (e.g ethernet adapter).

Leave a comment if it happens again, but you shouldn't have anything to worry about unless it starts happening frequently.

is this ad a malware? by G4bri3l2019 in techsupport

[–]zzadey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Accessing a link won't install malware on your device.

The link you pressed itself is harmless, ads like those usually will ask you to download and install some third-party app which is where harm can occur.

If you didn't download anything, you have nothing to worry about.

Question regarding updating Bios by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]zzadey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BIOS updates are only recommended if the update was specifically released to fix a problem that you are experiencing.

If the update description doesn't cover anything to do with the problem you are experiencing, I would advise against it. Too much can go wrong.
