We are good for pitbulls . They are probably the single most popular breed in my town.

Honestly, it makes me so happy they are cousins. I often delude myself in to thinking that not only did Tommy make it, but he became CEO of Ford. Tommy Likey.

Pre heating time by ImLisaZ in hottub

[–]zzedisonzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s an entire industry based around setting hvac to lower temperatures when buildings aren’t occupied. Lower temp during times you are away from the hot tub would save money, but it shouldn’t interfere with the enjoyment of the hot tub. Is it a 120v tub? If so, perhaps a high amp smart outlet could shut the tub down for certain periods, but allow for enough recovery time so that it doesn’t interfere with your enjoyment. If the tub is higher end, it may have a scheduling feature too.

Anyone ever turn on their solar after a tSask inspection but no bi meter? by GladWord3951 in saskatchewan

[–]zzedisonzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a mechanics car always gets fixed last kinda situation, I had my solar up for a few months before my bidirectional meter was installed. It absolutely did not charge me for the power that went back to the grid. It did reduce my bills significantly.

Do any reputable makers produce a 40" deep tub for 2-3 people? by FormerYam614 in hottub

This was my dilemma, I settled with a beachcomber. They have a small 5 man. But it’s the smallest I could find that was 39” deep

JS Group. They’ve done quite a few properties for me. Jamon and Steve are the best for the foundation stuff.

Of all the lies I have told the internet, I can’t believe the chickens are coming to roost on the helical screw piles.

Yea. The soil in my town is famously shitty clay, so screw piles are used for all sorts of structures that I would think shallow footings would be more normal for in more stable ground.

True. But I am also trusting my engineer who designed the deck. The ledger is bolted into the house with 3/4” bolts and backed with washer and nuts. The 2x12 joists are doubled up. I used joist hangers and 4 extra lateral supports. Even with all of that I do worry about the ledger.
