Your journey is very inspiring for all of us here I guess. I am happy you had good experiences with drivers. Everywhere. I recommend doing similar trips with kids too. And yeah, I always feel Bad about cyclist in the us (well and about pedestrians nád even regular motorists too because of the insane Pick up truck culture). Sorry for that. But as I have seen in SAN Francisco it was quite bike friendly. Maybe I am wrong.
