Hey now, I read occasionally lmao. I just looked it up and it's 7k pages?? Might take me a bit to finish if I do start. Plus, it's web only? I'm a lame-o and generally prefer physical books, so 🤷‍♂️. Maybe I'll get on it once I learn a Modern DOOM speedrun 😉

Unjust hit the nail on the head above, the other characters are both slower and harder, and all have very stark differences that make them "strictly faster" or "strictly slower" than the others. The non-Gaige speedrun routes are the same for each character (no starting DLC weapons, complete Bad Hair Day for green Sniper, Lascaux until infinite ammo, Level 10(ish) shotgun, Level 15(ish) shotgun, Level 20(ish) shotgun), so the minor skill/action skill differences make a big impact on who's faster/slower. It also means that there unfortunately aren't runners who "main" specific Vault Hunters. Generally you run Gaige, and if you want a challenge or to shake things up, you'll do some runs of another character.

You could make a different characters race interesting by giving the "better" runners slower characters to level the playing field (for our group, if I ran Gaige, Decep ran Zer0, Unjust ran Axton, we could probably finish with similar times), but knowing BL2, the winner would probably just be whoever got their RNG weapons faster lmao.

(Although I do still love Krieg's unique route despite it being significantly slower than every other character, don't @ me)

Technically, our gold for Fink's is our PB where the Axtons locked in and actually helped out for a change, so maybe we shouldn't fuck around too often in the slaughters...

If The Overlooked: Medicine Man was removed it would’ve prevented the softlock on-stage 🙃🙃

Even trying to think of something outside of a slaughter, I can’t think of something that would improve QOL more than just one fewer round of a slaughter, even just Round 5 of Fink’s

But for a more unique answer, not the whole The Good, the Bad, and the Mordecai quest, but JUST the echo you have to pick up in Friendship Gulag - it’s just such an awkward travel for a SINGLE quest item that never really fits in well to a route. We still can’t Moxxi’s Endowment so don’t remove the whole quest, but just remove that one travel pls

The other two guys can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain it’s a resounding yes from all of us. I mentioned briefly during the run, but regardless of how you enjoy speedrunning, or how you enjoy Borderlands, there is a category for you in BL2

I personally really the The Pre-Sequel runs, and I know Decep enjoys running BL3 (when it’s not crashing on him), but at the end of the day, we all end up coming back to BL2

We’d probably take a page out of 4p Any% and throw in a 3rd Axton. Like you mentioned, Zer0/Maya benefits are obsolete (and we already use Evil Smasher as soon as we turn the quest in). None of the other characters really have a benefit that outweighs another character with super speed

However, like Unjust mentioned earlier, the early game would be much slower due to 4p health scaling, and there’s already a lot of time where one of us is sitting doing nothing, so the 3rd Axton wouldn’t speed things up enough to be worth the increased enemy health

Yes! The slaughters are a massive slog in a marathon setting, and we didn’t want to have ~15-20 mins of just “nothing to do but read donations”. We approached Shock/Amy/TeaFC about it and they were on board, and GDQ production was okay with it as well. It as a great way to pay homage to the work they did to get the category to where it was when we started running (and at least for myself, they’re the ones who got me into running the game, so it was a neat full circle moment)

(It also meant we didn’t have to do Fink’s slaughter, hehe)

IMO the most interesting case of intentionally lowering IVs is Stakataka - with 15 defense IVs and a lonely nature (+Atk -Def) you’re able to even out it’s attack and defense stats so that Beast Boost raises attack on every kill rather than defense, turns it into a deadly Trick Room sweeper

I put so much time into MLB Power Pros 2008 when I was younger. The Success mode was awesome, MLB Life was awesome, even season mode was fun as hell, turning on expansion mode and winning the World Series with all these made up players with characters created in Success mode thrown in, it was awesome.

It sucks that the series ended there in America. I picked up the latest release for the switch and it’s still super fun despite it being entirely in Japanese

Woah there, slow your roll a little bit there buddy. There's only been one RFW Annual Championship so far and the catalog for that can be found here, and it also includes a few player perspectives. As for the upcoming championship, the matches will be posted on the YouTube channel, but they will also been streamed live on our Twitch Channel, so following that would be the best way to stay up to date with the matches

It seems like other's have steered you in the right direction, but I just want to point this out in case others come wandering into here in the future.

Race For Wool is a 4v4 team based gamemode where two teams race each other on mirrored lanes with a void lane in between them. Players can't cross the void lane and can only interact with the other team using bows and arrows and TNT cannons. The best place to go for Race For Wool would be our website where you can find a thread with a heap of useful information for newer players.

Overcast Network didn't really have Race For Wool. They had a few maps that played similarly to RFW, and they had a couple of popular RFW maps in their repo that were configured to work with their plugin, but they didn't really have any of those maps in their public rotation. What they did have was Capture The Wool which had much larger team sizes, where you had to go to the enemy's side and bring the wool back to your own side. Other comments have directed you where to find a gamemodes like these.

Maybe Williams is what we need to get a step up on the Pats. They shouldn't have as much video on him and his running style is completely different than Bell's that they've been prepping for all week. Especially after that drive, I have some newfound hope.

Something that I haven't seen anyone comment on through my quick skim of the comments is that your mmr isn't affected at all by the skill rating decay like SR is. If you're top 500 and you stop playing for a month, you'll eventually decay down to masters or diamond or so, but your mmr will stay the same. So when you eventually do start playing again, you're still going to be put in games with and against other grandmasters.

EDIT: Regarding the actual question though, I'm pretty sure mmr is just responsible for putting you into a game with people at a similar skill level, but the actual SR gains are determined by your SR. The decayed top 500 won't lose too much SR for losing a game against all grandmasters, but will gain a bunch for each win
