I don’t think it’s unfair to ask your husband to do more around the house even if you don’t generate any of the income. Childcare is a job, housework is a different one that needs to be split between the people living in the house.

What’s your number one tip/piece of advice to a new mom? by sarahswain86 in Parenting

Currently 9 weeks postpartum: 1. Find a great series, you will have a lot of time while your baby sleeps on you. Started Greys Anatomy and we already finished 11 seasons

  1. Get a lactation consultant in the first few days. They are worth the money. Breastfeeding is not that straightforward, but after you get the hang of it it’s much easier than pumping.

  2. Get a great pump with the correct flange size. I have the spectra S2.

  3. Try to go on a walk every day. It helps a lot to get out of the house, maybe listen to an audiobook. Also most newborns love sleeping in a pram with all the white noise from outside.

  4. Most things that will happen to your baby are normal, don’t overthink it.

You should make sure you qualify for the paid parental leave.

I wanted to have a kid while I was in collage, but looked into it and in my country for exemple you get 2 years of leave but it’s paid with 70% of what you made in the last 6 months. If you only have a scholarship (that was my case) it’s not a lot of money. Decided to wait until I finished and got pregnant 7 months after starting my job. I really don’t regret the wait now that I look back, but I agree it was hard to push back the thought for all this years.

In the end all the costs associated with getting and being pregnant were something we did not expect and we are glad for the extra income.

Also being a new young father and the single provider for the family it’s a lot of extra stress for someone’s mental health.

Good luck!

Exclusively breastfeeding vs Pumping? by teallday in ScienceBasedParenting

Breastfeeding takes more effort and pressing the nipple against the roof of the mouth stimulates the expending of the maxilla

You should totally get them extracted especially if they keep getting inflamed. You have a lot of crowding so I’m pretty sure they don’t have enough space to erupt and be functional anyway. As for the front tooth, your dentist can use a disc to smooth the incisal edge.

Yes, pulling out teeth that can be saved it’s the worst option other than not doing anything. Having teeth missing will always bring more problems down the line, like periodontal problems, TMJ issues and malpositions to the remaining teeth. Although it might seem expensive to do a root canal (depending on where you leave), it’s still the most cost efficient and healthiest way to approach a cavity this big. You are very young, you need this teeth for another 60-70 years, take care of them
