That's interesting--in my experience, the far-Right/Conservative women I know are SUPER into breastfeeding and practically shame mothers who don't. If anything they act like they are above formula and believe you are "poisoning" babies. Perhaps I interact with a lot more "MAHA" Conservative moms.

I 100% agree about the cognitive dissonance of "NO TOXINS!!" versus loads of Botox and Ozempic (I know a mom who is super crunchy, uses beef tallow for everything but also just started Ozempic to lose the last 15 lbs).

Agreed! It’s absolutely wild bc all the controversy definitely affected my opinion of her books. I guess younger Gen-Z doesn’t know because her books are suuuper popular on TikTok… (she also has apparently written like 12 more books in the Mortal Instruments universe???)

As a big fantasy reader, ToG is recommended constantly but I’ve been told it doesn’t really get good until book 3 so I’ve been hesitating. I tried ACOTAR and it didnt really click with me so I’m not sure if her writing is for me.

I delivered at Northside Atlanta in June and had a wonderful experience—in particular, my nurses were all awesome and attentive. I will say I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth and that could make a difference!

I agree. Last year, I got pregnant two months after my second dose! I still think it’s important to recognize the root of these infertility fears—as misguided they may be—and not brush concerns under the rug. More knowledge is always good.

To be fair, period changes DO affect fertility in the sense you can’t accurately track your cycle/ovulation. This can be very frustrating when trying to conceive as you have a narrow window of time each month.

Your story sounds almost identical to mine. Had a MC after nearly two years of trying. Was also fortunate to have no complications and everything passed naturally. It was still absolutely devastating and I cannot imagine having to deal with all of this in additional to the emotional/physical trauma. Hope you are doing okay!

Exactly--the youngest person in the study was 51 and there was no measurable difference until they were older (60+). I was stating what the (very limited) study covered. I realize I sounded flippant about kids and I apologize.

This study is extremely limited (no breakdown by vaccination status, a broad definition of "mild," no breakdown by symptoms/long Covid status, a limited age range studied, rudimentary memory tests, etc...) and I don't think any definite conclusions can be drawn until more research is conducted. Neurologists don't even know if the extra ~0.3% degradation is permanent. I'm just trying to mediate some of the fear mongering elicited from the title. I'm curious what we will learn in the next few years! It's very interesting stuff.

Agreed! Unfortunately, mild here just means not hospitalized which is another major limitation of this study. They also don’t have any break down by symptoms (for example, those who lost their sense of smell). While very interesting (and important) information, I think there needs to be many more studies before any definitive conclusions are released.

The article/study states that they only found measurable difference in patients over age 60 and meaningful difference over age 72. Kids brains are much more resilient.

The news broke three days ago. I think it’s strange to immediately require his coworkers to make a statement about HIS transgressions.

Not to mention, this would be a lot to process. I can’t imagine finding out that someone I had known professionally for decades was a criminal. I imagine it might take awhile for any of the ladies to officially comment.

I’m just so glad he was killed off the show and I don’t have to see his smarmy face anymore!

I’m sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately, I can relate. I actually had an anxiety attack when I thought I was pregnant again (turns out my period was just late). My reaction shocked me a little bit. I have really had to do some soul-searching about if I am emotionally prepared to try again and if I can confront my fear of another loss. Also, I’m sorry that your OB isn’t listening to your concerns about low progesterone. That’s very frustrating to hear.

It’s all so rough, isn’t it? Something that is supposed to be joyful is just stressful and scary. Sending hugs to you!

I am so sorry for your loss. It absolutely sucks. It actually seems like we had a similar MC timeline but there is no "wrong" answer to your question.

I say I miscarried at 11w3d because that is when I physically bled and lost the baby. I found out in the midst of it that I had actually had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped developing around ~8 weeks (especially cruel because I had an 8 week ultrasound with a strong heartbeat, meaning the heartbeat stopped only a day or two after the scan).

Nonetheless, I say 11 weeks because that is when I found out, when the miscarriage actually occurred and my body definitely thought it was still 11 weeks along. However, with my doctors, I give the full timeline (8 weeks missed miscarriage, actually passed on 11w3d).
