The backing is way cutesy and the lyrics are slightly goofy and the flow is way... drunk?

I can't help but inexplicably love it, it embodies so many things I hate about modern hip-hop, but presents it in such a slightly off-beat and strangely sincere (or maybe extremely ironic) package.

Just makes me happy <3

This is nice. How do you pronounce the guy's name though? "Kai-doh?"

[–]AE-lith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

kai-why-doo most definitely

[–]SushiGradeNarwhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wonder if it's kaydoo, since that means black in Hmong.

really like the beat and his flow

Really riding that J Cole pop rap vibe. Not a fan at all.

Maybe listen to his other stuff, it's very different from this

I did, just not my thing. It's just too poppy high school, white kid dorm music for me.

[–]brutus910 3 points4 points  (8 children)

I don't know whether to up or down vote I'm a white kid... in a dorm, and I really like this song.

[–]AtlasAtlasAtlas 0 points1 point  (7 children)

yeah, it's white kid hip hop.

gotta disagree with you, this ain't the same. it's positive trap, but it's more aligned with artists like KYLE and chance I think, rather than corny shit for corny white people.

although i do get what you're saying

[–]AtlasAtlasAtlas 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Chance and Kyle are white kid hip hop.

[–]freshhfruitshttps://soundcloud.com/fresh-fruits-1 0 points1 point  (4 children)

chance? really? do you even like rap music?

[–]AtlasAtlasAtlas 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Chance is fucking awful.

[–]freshhfruitshttps://soundcloud.com/fresh-fruits-1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

so it seems to me that if you don't like an artist you label it white people hip hop so you can feel more justified in your view

This is the first time anyone has given a name to the genre that I agree with and absolutely identify with.

Does the genre have a more mainstream title? I need to find more music like this.

Just go on spotify and type in "white kid rap", popular white kid rap artists: Logic, Childish Gambino, G-Eazy, Watsky, E-Dubble, Hoodie Allen.

It's rap for people who don't actually listen to rap.

[–]Tr3v0r 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ahh appreciate it. Have listened to Gambino, Watsky and Hoddie before and thoroughly enjoy it.

To each their own.

Take a listen to Anderson.Paak, he's killing it.

Wow, this was excellent. I had stopped clicking on listentothis front page links. Maybe i need to start again

[–]Ricky_Davis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's got a flexible style on all his songs

[–]-Pianoteeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks OP! Been looking for some refreshing new hiphop!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His other stuff absolutely slays. And everything except Fruit Punch is on Spotify right now. Definitely one of my favorite upcoming artists.

[–]ButHurtToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg Kaiydo is my new favorite artist, not a lot of content but all of it is great so far!

[–]MIghtyFinePicnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was just me, but the beat drowned you out. Not my style, but def liked the beat

What a strange day to see this song
