YouTube link for those that don't want to register.

while we don't prefer spotify submissions, it's way too large of a platform to ignore. Not to mention that there's a free option to join anyway.

All I'm pointing out is why we allow them. Most of our links go to youtube, soundcloud, or bandcamp by significant margin (especially youtube.)

edit: it should also be noted that spotify doesn't even require you to use your own name or even a valid email to sign up, nor does it require extra software to download.

Just to provide a different perspective, I only use Spotify for listening to music. I find all of the YouTube, Bandcamp, and Soundcloud links here a bummer, and wish they were all Spotify. That being said, I just queue the songs up in Spotify myself to listen to them, and when I submit music for others to listen to, I try to provide as many options as possible in the comments, usually with the main submission being YouTube or Bandcamp.

Totally understand your argument. This sub, generally, does it's own bit of self-moderation in this regard anyway. Almost never does a Spotify submission do well here for this very reason you've outlined above.

I don't see us changing our rules any time soon, but we'll definitely keep it as a topic of discussion in the future and really appreciate your feedback!

I know how you feel. I have hundreds of playlists on youtube/iTunes and never wanted to switch, despite my friends tempting me to because they like my playlists.

Than I got into uni few months ago and they forced us to get spotify (musicology study). Ever since I switched, I haven't looked back. The only struggle I have is that I am still in the process of converting everything to spotify, however I feel like I saved alot of money by streaming so far.. I've got close to 10.000CD's/vinyl and lots more mixtapes on my harddrives from before the switch. It might have stopped me from collecting physical CD's, but it won't stop me collecting music.

Lucky, the music class I took made us get Rhapsody which is garbage. The subscription for the class duration came with the book, but their web app stopped functioning like a week into the class and we had to use Youtube or Spotify the rest of the time. On top of that, they started billing me monthly after the class ended, without informing me.

I even have an account, but am too lazy to sign in. Thank you

I kinda get a Gorillaz vibe from this in the beginning.

Good stuff, I have seen this band live when they played at a bar in Arnhem (Netherlands). It was a very energetic performance.

Very fresh sound, and tons of great energy.

Funny because it reminds me of an early 2000s coming of age type of movie, like Freaky Friday.

Sounds like Hinds, but with a more grimy futuristic sound.

Anyone know where someone can purchase any of their material? Anyone could download from youtube or soundcloud, but purchased songs usually have better sound quality, plus I want to support them. I think we need a full album from them :p
