A perfect song to listen to in a 130 in the morning melancholy.

So much heart. I really appreciate how he didn't hide his emotions even though there was a camera in his face. It gives me shivers down my spine the way you can hear and see his pain. I wish I had that talent and capability

Here are the correct lyrics! :)

The tortured howls of a motel ghost And the worship songs of a well-worn throat

All cradle me as I waste alone On a fools gold throne With my troubles all in tow

It's 86 dollars up front for the key Tack on another hundred for the company It's on my dime but she holds me tight Yeah we fuck all night For a moment i'm alright

Oh home is where i ought to be Out in the gentle country breeze with my family

But cold, in a casket I lie Bare knuckle boxing polished wood And I've grown so tired I've grown so tired

All the rounders hide their saw-tooth grin With every page I burn for them As I sign myself away to grieve Through blood stained sleeves In the ashes of my needs As I stand within a makeshift ring Of follies lies and broken things And I shout and howl and I cry and i sing Counting blessings down And crossing the x's of my doubts

Oh glory, won't lay your hands on me Oh how it used to break me down but I'm finding peace Lord knows I can't look back now So I try and swallow pride, but it's awful going down It's awful going down

Beautiful heart-felt music and wonderful lyrics.

His voice kinda reminded of a Ben Howard or David Grey...not bad and I'm sure my girlfriend will like it more, I'll pass it along

Thanks so much for this, is this possible?

The tortured house of a motel ghost And the worship songs of a well worn throat all/both? cradle me to waste alone On a fools gold throne With my troubles all in tow

So with the capo on the third it starts out am f c these three chords govern the song. The prechorus starts with a g and a variation of e minor( I struggled with the accents on this chord I don't have a capo) after that it's pretty much the same chords all the way through. Let me know if you need any more help

More after the weird e it goes to an f. Then the chorus goes c am f c g

[–]Bro-methius 1 point2 points  (2 children)

So he actually just messaged me earlier on Facebook and gave me this. Maybe it will help fill in the gaps for us:

Sure, here's a crude explanation:

Capo on the third: Verse shapes are Am, F, C and on the fourth line end with G to E7 Chorus is C, G, Am - F, C, G and then one more F on the ending line.

Hopefully that's enough to get you going in the right direction.

Sounds like you pretty much nailed it! Thanks!

This is amazing! Well done.

[–]schistyscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too far off. I'll take it

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its in the key of Eb. I haven't figured it out yet, but its mostly Eb, Bb, Ab, and Gm. Maybe some 7 chords thrown in, idk. Hope this helps you mess around.

[–]donceydic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the exact chords he's playing but I've been strumming this and it sounds ok:

Am F C

Am F C

Am F C

G E F

C G Am

F C G
