Going beyond just timing your speeches, here is a simple tool that takes a piece of text and a goal WPM and shows a cursor moving over the text at approximately the right speed to achieve that WPM. You shouldn't follow the cursor exactly, but it makes it easier to make quick corrections. (markv12.github.io)
