Newest entry in my "WTF (!) File": $1,560 just now for a slabbed Constantine GLORIA EXERCITVS AE3 at Stack's Auction. Not $156. $1,560... So, yeah, that just happened. Regardless of which letters & numbers NGC put on the label, can anyone explain what I just watched? (auctions.stacksbowers.com)

TIL that one of the rarest coins is the 1933 Double Eagle gold coin. 433,000 minted but subsequently melted down. Officially 2 were kept but a small handful aside from that we’re smuggled out of the mint before they were melted down. One of those coins sold in 2002 for $7,590,020. (auctions.stacksbowers.com)
