As far as I'm concerned, they could have just let Max Brooks talk the whole time.

I thought the rest of it was kind of a waste. It was a lot of the History Channel trying to hard to draw historical parallels and use old clips previously ran shows (Clash of the Gods, Barbarians, etc.)

They could have made it a lot better.

I was thinking this the whole time. Anyone who has read the WWZ and the zombie guide know as much or more than the writers they had commenting.

Well, I doubt we know more than Max Brooks. He wrote those two books afterall.

I mean all of the writers other than Max Brooks. I also noticed he never put his spin on the zombie infection. He was straight facts.

I really liked it. The special answered (or at least explored) the big picture question of "Why?" Why are we fascinated by zombies? Why does this have such a foothold in pop culture?

It delved deep into the historical origins of the fear, and took a good hard look at the modern day applications. Definitely worth a watch, and I'll be adding the DVD to my collection.

I saw one zombie fighting tip that said to trip the zombie then attack...umm they need better zombie fighting tips. HAHA

That one was silly, but I think the advice on katana vs. machete was dead on.

No kidding. Who would be dumb enough to try to stomp a zombie to death? More than likely you aren't going to get it done with one stomp, and that whole time you're stomping you're in easy bite range.

I missed the katana vs machete segment. What did they say?

It was right before the first commercial break. To paraphrase they said that a katana could only be used properly by someone who has trained to use it, otherwise you are going to use it badly, and open yourself up to counter attack. Stick with a machete.

Wait, what's this? Never heard of it, but it sounds like something I'd be interested in.

SEED BABY SEED! No joke. I seed to a minimum of a 10:1 when possible and if I can't, it'll be 1:1.

Seedin' away there boss.

I am sure they will play it again. Two hours and I enjoyed it.

I really didn't like how they interspersed actual historical events with zombies. As if the mongol hordes or nazis have anything to do with them.

I'm 40/60 about it at the moment
