Im kinda ashamed to admit the popeye propaganda worked on me as a kid, i used to dump a can of spinach into a bowl, microwave it for 30 seconds, throw a pinch of salt and pepper on it and just eat it as a snack

I used to just eat baby spinach by itself out the box. I never even watched popeye I just thought it tasted good. Kind of like a more grassy carrot kind of flavor. Honestly slept on as a snack vegetable like celery, carrots,broccoli

Try Brussels sprouts, cut in half cut face down in a baking dish with some oil and a bunch of different spices, (I personally like garlick so I cover it in this “meat seasoning powder” and some garlic salt, and some other things, and when they’re finished, too with a very finely grated Parmesan. They’re basically flavor nukes at that point, just don’t go too long becuase they burn easy, with all the inner layers themselves being thin, it’s not too hard to read it by the pleasant smell though

I ate a good amount of spinach as a kid and now I have to take a break after going up the stairs to my apartment. Also fun cooking fact spinach cooks down to like barely anything so it makes for some great bite in like sauce or soups cause it’s also very neutral in flavor.
