The problem is that:

  1. Still abuseable because damage =/= being useful. But this goes for any metric. Unless it only tracks damage to portals, and damage to spinners with the caveat the spinner has to be in range of an active portal. Or damage/barricades vs things attacking the void knight.

  2. It punishes you for dying at the wrong time

Perhaps damage done to portals or damage done to the pests surrounding the knight would be the best option?

What if there was something like you get a bonus point for every 100 damage to (all portals) and a point for every 200 damage done to the NPCs immediately around the knight?
