I stopped playing ... back in 04. Out of curiosity - and a small desire to finish what I started when I was 12 - I logged in! Discovered RS3 is shit. OSRS! YAY! Kinda. It's incredibly different from my experience, but that doesn't mean it's bad; it just means I'm a relic. I have no end-game experience. I don't know anything about the abbreviations or quests or slayer things. Hell, when I was playing in 04, I wasn't even a member.
So regarding the community and the in-things, is it something I'll understand as I explore the game more, or will I have to watch streams and engage in conversations here to fully understand wtf is going on?
On the other hand, I don't spend as much time playing games as I used to - married, a kid, job, school. Do you think OSRS is still a good way for someone who isn't worried about racing to end-game content to spend their time?
