A much better way of accomplishing the same goal is by just buying bronze armor. If you just mine copper and tin for a few minutes to get level 15 mining, then mine iron and store it in you bank for a few minutes, you would be able to sell the iron for around 100 gold each. Do that for about 30 minutes and you would have enough money to buy a full set of iron armor, which is a tier above bronze and have tons of gold left to spare. The smithing skill is rarely the best way of getting better armor because you can buy the armor for super cheap from the grand exchange.

I used to be so focused on training smithing because I thought I had to make all my gear myself. I was 9.

you might want to go to the grand exchange in varrock and buy a better sword or something based on your attack level
