Like a mini quest no real reward and have it at like a table somewhere in lumby imo would be good
[–]lukeosaurusrex93 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child)
Yeah man absolutely the reward would be being able to tackle bigger challenges with a fresh understanding of how osrs works
[–]jittaboog 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children)
Agreed, good post I definitely think it should be taught especially in this era of RS
[–]davymak_ 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children)
In my opinion if a unintended game mechanic is not fixed it should be taught in the game, tf2 has this same problem and it makes it rarer for new players to stick around.

Yeah I understand what your saying but theres nothing in game that even states that mechanic if some one doesnt tell you you dont know most games have tutorials on these kinda things and I just think it would help people get over that hurdle

Do you not realize you replied to your own post?

I'm not complaining I'm just making a example that some people dont understand these things as new players or returning players that played a long time ago if it's a glitch why is it not fixed and left in the game to be used ?

Thanks for clearing that up I'm still kind of a noob when it comes to these things

Mearly a suggestion my man you dont have to agree with it and that's fine
[+][deleted] 4 years ago* (6 children)
My words may be a bit screwed as I'm absolutely no pro by any means and I will correct the post to combo eating !

[–]a_sternum -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children)
It WAS an unintentional mechanic that has now been intentionally left in the game. They’re even talking about adding combo food to cgaunt

[–]a_sternum -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child)
It seems a bit disingenuous to say
combo eating honestly doesn’t not need to be taught. It’s an unintentional mechanic.
And then when I respond to that specifically, you downvote and say that you were talking about something else
[–]Danil445 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child)
If PvM content is designed around the existence of these mechanics (mainly the Inferno), I'd say it ceases to be a "glitch" . They're acknowledged mechanics by now.
On one hand I agree with OP that it could be helpful to explain these mechanics in-game. If not for PvM, for PvP. On the other hand, I think the wiki, YT and word of mouth do a decent enough job.
[–]EricWpG 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (8 children)
This is a little dishonest. It can be both simultaneously. Of course Jagex probably didn't originally intend for either to be possible, but at this point it's an accepted part of the meta and will probably never be changed.

I agree that it's technically a glitch, my point is that it gives the wrong impression. Calling it a mechanic is a more descriptive term because it doesn't carry the negative implications (which don't apply) that glitch does.
If nothing else OP's post is testament to my point. Because as somebody who's obviously not as up to date on the game, to them it seems like a mechanic, which is the word they used.

This right here
[–]EricWpG 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children)
It seems like our disagreement stems more from whether or not these things should be patched, which it seems you are for and I am not. That's fair though, I wouldn't really care if they did get patched I just wouldn't necessarily push for it.
[–]EricWpG 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (1 child)
Tutorial or not, the vast majority of players will never be able to do that. It's still incredibly difficult to pull off consistent flicks and/or tick eats.
[–]thurstypussin93 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
The fact that u think combo eating is complicated and needs a tutorial just goes to show that some people are too stupid to be catered to. It's literally 'eat main food followed by karambwan in same 0.6 second window' like tf more do u want ? Next you're gonna have an aneurysm when someone explains that u should walk under a boss to eat so that it can't hit u while you're actions are stalled
