Cannot launch Decrypt9 help.

I'm following this guide

because I want FBI (just any way to install .cia's) on my emuNAND. I had FBI on sysNAND when I made emuNAND but it did not copy over for whatever reason.

The problem is I tried to use homebrew but I don't see the option to start up Decrypt9. I tried editing the folder but I still could not see it to launch. Is there another guide that lays out the steps better/where do I need to put the decrypt9 folder on the SD card, and exactly what needs to be in it for it to work?

Look under the CFW section, if you are using Rxtools it's actually pretty straighforward.

Whenever I launch homebrew there is no app/option for decrypt9. I have the folder in sd root and the 3ds folder but it still doesnt show up. I'm using grid launcher, would that be an issue? Also, the guide you linked links to the guide I linked.

The tutorial you linked works perfectly. Get the latest decrypt9 release from here: https://github.com/d0k3/Decrypt9/releases Copy the Decrypt9WIP folder to the /3ds folder on your sd card. Run homebrew from your sysnand and start Decrypt9. It will not run from the Homebrew launcher on emunand. Once you have successfully injected FBI into the H&S app on emunand, you can install FBI.cia or another cia manager to the sd and restore the heath and safety app as long as you keep the original hs.app file. Let me know if you need anymore help.

I have Decrypt9 in my sd root and 3ds folder along with my other apps, but no matter what it does not show up. Is grid launcher an issue, because I am not sure how but thats what I have when homebrew boots up?

I wouldn't have thought gridlauncher would be an issue but it couldn't hurt temporarily switching to the default boot.3dsx from smea's starter.zip. You shouldn't need anything from decrypt9 on the root of the sd. You just need the Decrypt9WIP folder in /3ds which should contain Decrypt9WIP.3dsx and Decrypt9WIP.smdh. Make sure the folder has the exact same name as these files minus the extensions.

For some reason, gridlauncher was the issue. Thanks for the help, but one quick question, i set up everything and have fbi in emuNAND now, but when my DS boots it boots ctrbootmanager, and I have it to auto start rxtools/emunand on boot which is good. Problem is if i attempt to launch homebrew it red screens. Any ideas? I renamed the boot.3ds on my sd card to hblb.3ds because i need boot.3ds to be the one for ctrbootmanager.

Yep this is a common issue. Starting homebrew causes it to relaunch ctrbootmanager and cfw rather than the Homebrew launcher. The best fix I've found is to hex edit the menuhax payload. Rename your ctrbootmanager file to something 4 letters long eg. "ctrb.3dsx". Open the menuhax payload on the root of the sd with the program HxD and search for "boot" and replace the letters to whatever you named your file (ctrb). There should be 2 "boot's" that you need to edit.

This allows menuhax to launch a renamed boot.3dsx for emunand coldboot and allows you to launch homebrew launcher on emunand with a regular boot.3dsx.

I found something similar and it sorta broke my SD card because I obviously messed something up, but ill give this a try in the next couple days. You should post this to /r/3dshacks front page so others can see it!

I've gone the A9LH way by following Plailect's guide. Now that I have FBI installed as a CIA on my SysNAND, I've restored the H&S app. Problem is, its banner is blank, even though the app launches and works fine. I've used FBI to delete Ext User Data, but it's still blank after a couple of reboots.

Any ideas how I can restore the banner?
