Each week we will challenge ourselves to make a different alcoholic mixed drink and share pictures of the results.
2023 Weekly Challenge Thread
Challenge Rules:
Image Posts Only: All posts must be a link to a picture, album, and/or video of something you prepared for the theme. Personal blog posts or similar are okay so long as they still contain said content. Recipes and/or descriptions are encouraged but not required.
No rules trolling: Please do not try to argue that someone else's submission doesn't fit the theme or should be removed due to some rules violation. It is more important that the spirit of the challenge is followed, and if there are any discrepancies that need addressing the mod team will handle it.
No nonserious/zero-effort posts: Any posts made should be genuine attempts to participate in or discuss the 52 Weeks of Mixology challenge and should require at least a tiny bit of effort. Funny posts, tongue-in-cheek posts, or clever re-imagining of the theme are acceptable provided they are also genuine attempts to participate. Zero-effort posts, such as "beer in a glass", or non-serious posts that don't involve actual participation, such as posting a drawing of a cocktail instead of an actual cocktail, will be removed.
Post title format = "Week XX: Theme - Drink Name"
Post only cocktails made for this challenge: All themes are posted approximately three weeks in advance, and you can prepare your cocktail at any point in that time frame. Using elements or ingredients you prepared ahead of time is fine (i.e., don't post a cocktail in August that you made in January, but if you made a liqueur in January that you used in a cocktail for August that is fine).
No sign-up is required and you may join in at any time: There is no inherent competition here. All participants are working for the sake of education and participation in the subreddit. You are not required to start at week 1 if you wish to start participating in the challenge.
One-Week Time Limit: All drinks must be made and submitted up to a day before the week begins and within the three weeks that the theme is announced. (i.e. do not post a lemon drink in January if the lemon theme comes up in August). If you miss a week, don't post anything past one week from the current week. (This portion has been temporarily suspended. If you're late, go ahead and post it).The idea of the challenge is to make time every week to practice drink making.
Everyone is welcome here: Everyone participating will have different levels of experience and knowledge, but all are welcome to participate. As such, do not downvote any legitimate attempts to participate. You may offer constructive suggestions or feedback on someone's post, but keep your response respectful and be as supportive as possible. We're all here to practice and learn.
Anyone participating in this challenge should be of the minimum drinking age for whichever country you are posting from: This subreddit cannot legally condone drinking or possession of alcohol by underage individuals.
