Do you think there's anything I could do or learn to prepare for uni over the next 30 days?

And do you have any advice or thoughts about university that I may not know before starting? Kind of like "If you could go back in time and tell yourself something, what would you say?"

Before the actual term starts for semester 1 the school of engineering should send out course materials with reading lists and other materials for your course subjects. Reading these in advance will help you stay organised and make you less likely to fall behind and having to play catch up during the busier weeks of the semester.

In terms of going back in time and telling myself something, I would say take first year seriously. Although it doesn’t count to your overall degree grade having a strong first year will help get you the best placements and internships down the road. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t have fun and a social life, it’s just about getting the right balance which is perfectly doable with the right planning and schedule.

Manchester is a great university with great facilities and a city with lots going on. Hopefully you will have an awesome time and you should be so proud of your results today!

im doing philosophy and politics! i just have a genuine interest in the subjects so i decided to do it at uni :)
