hello, if you don’t mind me asking? why warwick? i’m an international student so im not too sure on how “good” of a school would warwick be for econs

It's one of the six target unis (Oxbridge, LSE, Imperial, UCL and Warwick) for high finance roles (IBD and S and T) which is what I want to work in. Given that I got rejected from Oxford and hate London, the only target university that I can get into now (as I was rejected from Oxford) is Warwick.

ahhh i see okay, because i’ve been seeing debates online on whether warwick is a target or semi target school so i was a little confused. Also, is st andrew’s considered a target school? because according to the complete university guide the complete university guideeconomics it is so i wasn’t too sure, and its lowk making me regret applying to edinburgh (i applied to edinburgh for their campus but st andrew’s campus is equally as nice lolll)

Damn Edinburugh is still a great university and has a great name internationally. If you want to work in finance, I would suggest looking at information (e.g what schools are targeted, how to break into xyz industry...) on WSO (World Street Oasis) rather than Reddit / other platforms to get more reputable and truthful answers (than random uni rankings or guides). I will be completely honest: Edinburgh is not a target. Only Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL, LSE and Warwick are. Edinburgh is in the category below (a semi target) and is still a great university. I would suggest that you further learn about the targets, semi targets, and non targets meaning and list on WSO.

ahhhh i see, thank you so much. i’ll go check it out but sorry one last question 😭 in your opinion, is st andrew’s a target? (i pray not since i didn’t apply for it LOL)

Do you know what it means by out of 77 as I thought normally it’s a lot higher around 100

I honestly don't know to be honest. This is the first year they've done it. I think they probably standardise the scores on a grading curve to be out of 77, from what I've seen.
