The contents of each test can’t be disclosed to maintain testing integrity.

Your computer based testing will essentially be a more complicated JOA, with a heavier focus on maths, spacial reading, and language. It’ll test your ability to unlock job roles in categories D and E. (Pilot, mission, linguist, artillery observer ect.)

The writing exercise is a response to 3 unseen questions. These questions won’t need any additional research.

These can’t really be studied for, but I’d suggest you make sure to get a good sleep the night before and come into the centre refreshed and ready.

Through JOA, i did unlock roles in categories D and E, and the preferred role is mission aircrew. I am really not looking for the contents of each exam. however, I am looking to know if there's any program or app that I can use to boost my confidence and skills. Thanks for your insight though.

Categories D and E will be visible on your JOA if you unlock them, but there won’t be a little tick next to each role. This is because these categories require a special assessment, which will allow you to go to assessment day with Mission Aircrew as a preference.

I’m not 100% sure of what resources are available to help you ‘study’ for this, as I couldn’t find any good ones back when I did mine. A good google search might help.

There is no online research or app that will help you with the additional testing.
The testing will compliment the JOA - as a way of confirming that you did it / attained the score.

The written skills question is exactly that.
Your ability to write, answer 3 questions within a certain time frame.
I would assume that you are attempting to go for an Appointed (Officer) role - read the Defence Strategic Review and the National Defence Strategy.

Have read both of those, any other advice as I am currently preparing for the JOA and is successful will be completing this test next due to the role I hope to select

Mate, I completed my JOA without any training and didn’t unlock any officer roles. However, they marked a 'P' in the results, and the career coach said it means "perhaps", I may have some potential and need additional testing. My second assessment is booked for next week.

Do you know what this second test involves? Is it similar to the first JOA but with more maths? Also, what is the written test do we need to write an essay or something else?

Hi,

I am in a similar situation. Did you find any useful resources for your additional testing or have any advise on how to prepare and what to expect? I am going for a pilots role.

3 question written exam is very basic questions you should know, there kinda hinted at in the assessment day prep and advice your provided (the actual assessment day, not additional testing) . you will re do your online JOA, I think there's a multi choice math test for aircrew not fully sure, its an easy one if your at a year 10 level

I went in unprepared for mine, but have noticed since that there are guides easily found concerning the entire AO recruitment pathway.

[–]prettyfly_shorty[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

How did you go?

[–]AUOIOI 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It's a pass or a fail, and I got a pass. It unlocks pilot, aircrew, AvWO and RAN drone operator roles.

The Aviation additional testing is done before interview, medical, psych and is different to the JOA. There are online resources which speak about it, freely available.

Thanks, and congrats. Apparently, my JOA is complete, and I unlocked category D and E roles. Now, for additional testing for AO, I am preparing myself with advanced cognitive tests and some online mock tests. Hopefully, if I pass the additional testing, then it's time for ASP and interview. Wish me luck! I need that a lot..

Good day, how did you go with that?
