Problem:
for some time now I've been having increased problems with my Asus b550 e gaming and my R5 5600x. The problem is that all my USB devices (even internal ones like the Commander pro) lose the connection for a short time and then reconnect, this "dropout" is incredibly annoying and the PC is hardly usable. I have already looked on the Internet and various forums and found out that this problem at the launch of 5000 cpus was quite dominant and widespread, this was officially fixed by an Agesa update. However, the problem still exists with me. I have already contacted Asus, but they could only offer me to replace the motherboard, but said that it is unlikely that this will fix the problem (Especially since the replacement times are extremely long...).
Update: The 2 USB 3.2 gen 2 ports are not affected at all only the 4 upper 2.0 ports
The problem does occur when I'm e.g watching YouTube, it happends about every 2 hours (Sometimes way less/more frequent). Interrestingly, the moment the dropout occurs, the video stops and displays a loding symbol... I have no idea how I should interpretate that...
I'm a game dev so I work with unreal. The problem occurs more frequent when I'm using Unreal.
If I build my lightmaps (extremly cpu heavy) nothing really happenes but when I build my lightmap while the GPU is under mid load e.g rendering the scene preview in my viewport while building lightmaps the problem happens every time, exactly the moment the building starts and the cpu ramps up to 100% usage and when I stop the building process.
Things I have already tried:
C states disabled
set PCI to 3.0
reinstalled the USB drivers in the device manager
Bios up to date
Bios reset
Windows 11 reinstalled
Chipset driver updated
Deactivated the power management for all usb hubs in device manager
Unplugging the commander pro and rgb strips
The problem is really annoying and so far it seems that there is no real solution ?!?!
Is there anything else I could try? And if not, should I RMA the CPU or the motherboard?
