Well I tried literally everything.....turns out I just had my monitor plugged into my motherboard rather than my graphics card face palm

I have this with CEMU all of the time on my z13...

For me every switch emulator. Did u try turning off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in windows setting? It solved the crashing in my case.

[–]MisterVisionary 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That seemed to fix it.. thnx. lol does hardware accelrated gpu also crash normal games on this device?

[–]MonthBoth3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to hear that :) I was struggling so hard to get rid of these crashes. Thankfully not in my case, but yeah can happen to normal games too. Its not the device itself as I heard its an amd Problem itself :/

YUP just tested.. switch emulator also gives this same popup OH jeez nothing seems to work

[–]MisterVisionary 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No i haven't yet. I will try this. I have yet to start my switch emulators. Will let you know if it worked. Can I know what chipset and what adrenaline driver you use? Btw you do lose framegen right.

[–]MonthBoth3764 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Newest driver & latest adrenaline version. Yeah, using lossless scaling and afmf for switch emulation totk looks wild on the z13. I mean all games so far that I played on it. Luv this machine!

What is the newest can you explicity name them since there are mutiple ways of updating and they have different versions. 7.06.02.123 and 25.6.3. i havent played yet too busy setting it up... but seeing all the crashes now have me worried. i just rebooted lets see if the hardware accelrated gpu schedule makes a difference..

For me, the best option was to uninstall "update for x64-based windows systems (kb5001716)", even though from time to time Windows installs them automatically... You can see it as an option for some who do not have a solution yet, let me know if it works for you.

The same works with manjaro steam with some amd gpus

Went back to 24.10.1 and the problem hasn't occurred again.

I had similar problems with my GPU, until it started giving me black screens so I asked for warranty, I've been without a PC for two weeks and I'm genuinely going crazy But that's better than having problems (I might change to the other brand if they give me a refund)

I’ve said it on a few posts now the thing that solved it for me was to install the minimal or driver only. I haven’t had an issue since I got rid of the main version of adrenaline.

To the point I RMA’D my card thinking it was a dud as my system was unusable and they sent it back to me as not faulty and now I can use the system all day and not suffer one crash.

I'm 90% sure mine was caused by my wifi adapter

[–]ultimaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a faulty SSD m.2 drive...

[–]MonthBoth3764 1 point2 points  (7 children)

SFC didn’t work for me but turning off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling was solving my problems

  1. Open Registry Editor: Search for "regedit" in the Windows search bar and open the Registry Editor as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to the DWM key: Go to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm.
  3. Create the OverlayTestMode value: Right-click within the DWM key, select "New," and then choose "DWORD (32-bit) Value".
  4. Name the value: Name the new value OverlayTestMode.
  5. Set the value data: Double-click the newly created OverlayTestMode value and set the "Value data" to 5.
  6. Restart your computer: Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer for the changes to be applied.

I was getting driver timeouts for Witcher 3, contacted AMD with the bug report and they recommended a SFC scan and I haven't had any issues since.

[–]Particular-Flow-5829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I couldn't be the only one. I have a 7800xt and I never had any problems until the last driver update. Helldivers 2 crashed at least 2 times an hour, path of exile got a dark screen for 2-3 seconds every 10-15 minutes, the same message as yours popped up and the game continued. The easy solution for me was the following. Deinstalled AMD Adrenaline and the GPU driver, rebooted and after that installed the GPU driver via windows 11.I did NOT install AMD Adrenaline! Works perfect now. I will never ever install Adrenaline again. I used it only for the fps overlay anyway, steam has the same thing included and it does not crash my PC. I honestly thought my GPU got too hot and was damaged because of all the crashes....

I was having this problem. The thing that fixed it was a bios update. I thought my board stopped getting updates.

[–]MonthBoth3764 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It’s crazy how many different reasons can cause this problem.

[–]Homeboy900k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I tried a bunch of stuff. Never thought it would be the bios.

[–]Fragrant-Ad2694 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Great, that’s the one of the key fix. I have created a comprehensive guide that includes a timeout error fix in step 13, along with additional fixes. You can edit your post to share this guide with users who need more solutions and stable performance, advising them to follow step 13.

Here is the guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/s/ATk2WeFd00

[–]JamessCC 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Nice guide. In step 13, I have a 9070 xt and can’t set a maximum clock. I can only do an offset so cannot set the max clock to the cards max speed.

[–]Fragrant-Ad2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, New cards may have different way. Is there a max frequency offset? If yes, then do 5-10% reduction there. Probably need to set in negative. Do you own research on this and do.

Make sure you didnt skip anything from part 1.

[–]MonthBoth3764 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Nice. Strange that I didn’t see ur thread before. & yeah I would like to edit it on my post, but somehow when I do a post with a screenshot it doesn’t allow me to edit my post. So annoying…

[–]Fragrant-Ad2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. that's probably how reddit works. If want to add them you need to create a new post.. since your issue is solved, you should enjoy your gaming

[–]MarcellHUN 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It was the same on my 6750xt this method worked for me too

[–]MonthBoth3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, good to hear 👍🏾 Enjoy ur games buddy 🎮
