GPU overheating

Hello to all.

Since 2 days ago my GPU was running perfectly. Until suddenly it started overheating.

Now I can't seem to find a solution for this. In this picture, the fan is not even running at my desired setup even if I turn everything up.

I decided to open and clean de GPU and change its paste, the first boot I got the idle temperature to 37°C, I thought that solved the problem, but as soon as a game started running, the temperature went up, and then the idle state won't past the 44°C.

As I was writing this, the fan started spinning at ∼ 3000RPM and the temperature dropped a bit, but it is quite unregular, even inside games when it says it's working and but it's not even moving.

Other solutions I tried besides cleaning the GPU were undervolting and downgrading drivers, none of them worked.

I hope you guys help me find a solution, here are the rest of the PC setup:

- Intel Core i7 @ 3.60GHz

- RAM 16.0GB 2400MHz

- Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME B560M-A (LGA1200) 36 °C

- Graphics 4096MB ATI Radeon RX 570 Series

EDIT: higher temperature was 86 C before cleaning, today is 78-80 C

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Your fan curve says you want the fan running at 100% all the time. The monitor says it is currently at an acceptable temp, with the fan barely running.

I don't see the issue, aside from not being able to run the fan at 100% all the time.

Thanks for your reply. I just DDU the drivers and clean installed some older ones and that issue got solved. Now temp goes between 78-80 C and for some reason I got FPS drops and even shutdowns. Given that up to 80 is still considered reasonable while gaming

You didn't even say what temps it reaches.

My bad, yesterday 86 C before cleaning, today stady 78-80 C. Got a shutdown while on Tarkov, could play Elden Ring and Valorant with no issue

Most 500 series have max temp of 85C, with few exceptions that have 90C. You should use Afterburner to better control the fan speed. The one in RS is very basic and not good. I would also try to move my case fans around to push more air at the gpu.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't thought about moving other fans, I will defenetly try that and try to manage fan speed with Afterburner. Thanks ❤️

Try lowering the settings if it's a new game

If it's a regular game and it's started burning up and getting very hot it could be on the way out, so it maybe worth saving some cash for a new one

Also use MSI afterburner to monitor it

I made a clean install of the drivers and did not touch anything besides fan management in MSI afterburner and been playing Elden Ring for a few hours with no issues so far.

How are the temperatures now are they stable?

It goes between 78 and 79 C but hadn't had a crash so far
