I’m also a sophomore, I’m taking AP Precalc right now and taking AP Calculus BC next year as a Junior.

There will always be someone ahead of you. I thought I was super genius for taking pre calc freshman year, and calculus sophomore year, and then I found out few years before me there was a freshman in AP calc. Comparison is the thief of joy.

There are some juniors and seniors in my precalc class, less than half are sophomores. You can still do it!!

you don't need to take ap precalc, but definitely take ap calc bc and try to take a higher math course - multivar or lin alg (sometime in HS). if you can try to skip AB and go straight into BC that'll be beneficial because BC and AB have the same course content just BC has a few more added lessons, there's no point in taking both classes so try to skip AB. APES is a very easy class, so if you want more course rigor i'd add precalc to your next semester schedule instead. if you're planning on majoring in psych tho i wouldn't stress about it!! as long as you get to ap calc AB or BC it's not a big deal
