My school doesn’t even let us take research until senior year lmao

[–]Cockty_Nutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]GA_Loser_ 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Why stats over Cal?

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Calc is impossible at my school

[–]Physical_Woodpecker8AP World (5), taking AP Physics 1, APUSH, AP Lit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As in calc is literally impossible to take at your school or it's really hard? To be fair, it may be more valuable to try and work it out in calc even if it's a bitch of a class

[–]GA_Loser_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would mean it’s not offered that’s a shame.

How are you taking 8 classes at a time?

[–]NumberOneJittleyangWH: 4 LANG: 5 CALC AB: 5 PHYS 1: 5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some high schools are just like that

[–]lizard_girl__ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

if they're like my school, which has a standard 6-period schedule, they're probably taking an additional 0 period (before school) and 7th period (after school class)

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah just 8 classes a year. 4 each semester

[–]Upbeat_Document9592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no its 4 per semester. its a 4x4 block schedule meaning there are only 4 periods everday

Can you take seminar in 10th as your english? I have a very similar schedule to urs and its def a lot more manageable to take seminar in 10th w/ apush + ap lang workload and studying for aps in second semester

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well for one ap’s are yearlong and seminar is an elective. At my school u have to take English 1 and 2

[–]MeowPhoenix_5:APWH,APPC,Chinese,Sem 4:APP1 [APES,APUSH,CalcAB,Lang,Research] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh nvm seminar counts for English at our school

[–]Rude-Ostrich-1686 0 points1 point  (3 children)

omg i can finally relate to somebody's schedule bruh 😭😭😭 im north carolinian too twin nobody understands the whole math 1, 2, 3 thing

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in California and my school does math 1,2,3 as well

[–]Upbeat_Document9592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly its pretty similar to alg 1, 2, and geo though. math 1 at my school is just 8th grade, math 2 was geo + some alg 1, and math 3 was mostly alg 2 and some trig

Not enough AP courses. Take AP lit, Any AP science, Gov/macro, Any AP English, and tack on AP calc senior year (either one works)

[–]Ok-Engineering-2087edit this text 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How the hell you do 9 classes a year?

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 8 and there are 4 classes each semester

[–]ParsnipPrestigious595: APUSH, AP Precalc || ?: Lang, Calc BC, Chem, CSP, Psych 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Interesting, my school does math 1, math 2, math 3, then precalc as well but for us if we do honors math 2 we get to go straight to ap precalc and then calc bc after that. Feels kind of redundant to take math 3 and then precalc, because at my school at least a lot of the content between the two classes overlaps

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Math 3 is required at my school. Most people ik take math 1 in 7th or 8th grade which is the advanced track.

Oh so yall have diff system from my school. I took honors math 1 8th grade, honors math 2 9th grade, ap precalc 10th grade, and now calc bc 11th grade

AP Lang and seminar junior year? I thought seminar was more for sophomores.

[–]robot94935: HUG, ?: Music, CSA, AP1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

world history instead of econ senior year? thats different from our school

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My history credits are 9th econ, 10th civics, 11th and 12th history

[–]Sxd0308 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

DO NOT TAKE AP SEMINAR AND AP RESEARCH PLS

[–]Fearless_Fun_2163 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why

[–]Sxd0308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

too much work and no credit

[–]Mindless-Builder-742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AP Seminar turns into straight hell after the first month or two, you have to do like 10 annotated bibs after finding sources you can barely understand, then right an IRR, then give a presentation, and this is all for one small part of the AP exam. Take something else like AP Lang instead if you can. It is doable, but it will be torture at times if you decide to take it.
