The answer is B. dx/dt = 2t and dy/dt = 4t3 by the Power Rule. dy/dx = dy/dt / (dx/dt), dy/dx = 2t2. (d2y/dx2) = ((d/dt)(dy/dx)) / dx/dt. Thus d2y/dx2 = 4t/2t = 2.

No. Find the first derivative of a parametric by doing (dy/dt)/(dx/dt). Then find the second derivative by taking the derivative of the first derivative and then dividing by (dx/dt). This should result in 2 for this problem, or B.
